🫘 Shopping for WIC-approved beans is easy at Lone Star Family Market! 🫘

Beans are packed with protein and fiber, and they work in just about any meal. Use your WIC legume benefit on any of these:

🥫 Canned beans 🛍️ Dry beans 🥜 Or choose peanut butter: Creamy or Crunchy

Three-Bean Chili (serves 6)
🍲 Recipe: Easy 30-Minute
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 cup water or broth
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
Salt and pepper to taste

Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Cook the onion and bell pepper for 5 minutes, until soft. Add the garlic and cook 1 more minute.
Stir in the chili powder and cumin, then add the tomatoes, water or broth, and all three beans.
Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring now and then. Season with salt and pepper. Top with shredded cheese, plain yogurt, or green onions.
