We have flowers ready for Pick-Your-Own cut flowers. You can bring your own snips and basket or borrow ours. I've attached some tips and info. Check in at the farm store for instructions. Tip: It's best to cut flowers earlier in the day and avoid the heat. We are excited to add this new adventure to our list of tricks!

If you haven't been, Rich Earth Farm has a farmers market EVERY Friday 3 - 7 pm. (This is last week flyer but info still the same). Go by and meet some of my buddies and help support local.

We have lots of yummies on the Fill-a-Bag seconds this week. Best days to get freshest are Wednesday and Thursday. Saturday afternoon we donate what's left to the Carmel Baptist Church food pantry. Large bags $10 and small $7.00. If you have EBT, we also work with Virginia Fresh Match. You get half off all produce including the fill a bag!

Farm News:
In case you blinked, you've missed strawberry season. Next up will be blueberries in July. We will not have as big a crop due to the late frost. As most of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast was hit by early heat in March causing early bloom and then late frost/freeze in April, expect berries, peaches and apples to be scarce and higher than normal.
We are starting to get in spring and summer veggies. Currently lettuces, greens, beets, broccoli, cabbage, onions and greenhouse tomatoes. Many of the varieties are the same as field grown and grown in soil.
Summer hours: closed Monday & Tuesday, open Wednesday- Saturday 9:30-5:30 and Sunday 11-5.

We convinced Sméagol to share some of his "Precious" tomatoes! First of the season (greenhouse) heirloom tomatoes.

We are done with strawberries for this season. Check late June for blueberries (not a huge crop due to the late frost).

All you carnivores, we just got in 400 lbs of fresh local beef. (Cow from Turnagain Farms, LLC, VA Verified Beef). I know what I'm having for dinner. YUM!
