Roxie Deli & Barbeque ~
Chris & Amy Tannous purchased the Priceless Market located in East Sacramento in August 2004, opening the deli in May 2005. Priceless Market had a long history as a neighborhood establishment. Originally it was a meat market which transitioned into a grocery and deli. Over the years this quaint corner store has only had a few owners; the 2nd owners taking over from 1941 –
1975, after that it was simply known as “Henry’s”. Pictures of the original owners are hanging on the walls of the deli. Many locals remember, appreciate & value the small town feel that the corner store has always had…and still has. Upon buying the business, the Tannous’ changed the name to Roxie Deli & Grocery (updated to Barbeque when the smoker was added). Just like the building’s history, the new name has a long history with family ties. Chris’s dad & brothers opened Roxie Deli in San Francisco in the mid 70’s. Over the last 40 years they have established themselves as a cornerstone of their neighborhood and have done many wonderful things for the community. Chris began working at Roxie SF when he was just 6 years old, standing on a milk crate to reach the counter. The neighborhood has really taken pride and ownership of the new Roxie Deli and enjoy smelling the smoker that started smoking in…. Chris runs the deli with a wonderful staff. The deli has many regular customers who help make the store what it is. Chris knows what many will order and begin making their sandwich before they walk into the door. With Chris’ passion for food, they’re always coming up with something delicious to make the deli even better. They now offer catering and also carry hand-selected microbrews and craft sodas to pair with everyone’s favorite Roxie sandwiches. Roxie Deli & Barbeque isn’t just a sandwich spot, it’s an experience.
