Choose between Pepe and the Parade: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage by Tracey Kyle or Where Are You From? by Yamile Saied Méndez in the poll below! We choose these two books as they relate to Hispanic Heritage Month.

Our Literacy Corner is back! Next Saturday, Sept. 20th, the ONE Natomas Farmers Market, will feature a great program for children, including a reading corner with readings from local authors such as .patterson, a poetry performance by our local youth poet laureate, !

Local organizations such as Sacramento County READS, Heroic Girls, and Fratwins Comics will be coming out to promote their programs and hand out goodies, free books, and comics!

Bring your children for a morning of literacy, fun, and snacks! See you on September 20th from 10am to 12:30pm!

We had some awesome farmers and vendors at our last farmers market! From Jewelry to cookies to plants, we had it all!

We also had a very special guest, ! So many kids came by to test their aim with their inflatable target and spin their prize wheel.

And we were giving out our “For Each Other” campaign signs to community members! “For Each Other” is a public awareness campaign that is a partnership between Councilmember Kaplan and , to encourage people to slow down and look out for each other. Do your part and grab some tomorrow for your neighborhood!

During tomorrow’s market, we’re gonna have a few special furry friends. Come out to meet some adoptable dogs from the on their . The will be taking the dogs on a run/walk, after which they will be hanging out at the market to meet potential adopters. If you’re interested in adopting, come say hi!

See you at the next farmers market this Saturday from 8:30am to 12:30pm!

It was an honor to join & the We Are TR Foundation at the Twin Rivers State of the District last Friday! The work that the Foundation does to raise funds in support of vital programs, activities and facilities for students is absolutely essential to uplifting Twin Rivers students, and I was proud to show my support!

I loved the opportunity to connect with the amazing teachers, administrators, staff, Twin Rivers USD Board Trustees & community leaders whose passion for service & supporting students keep the District moving everyday.

Thank you to Superintendent Dr. Steven Martinez for the invitation to attend!
