We had the absolute best time hosting our young entrepreneurs at the One Natomas Farmers Market! From handmade goods and crafts to squeeze toys and sweet treats, our talented kid vendors completely blew us away with their creativity and hard work.

A massive thank you to our Natomas community for showing up, shopping small, and encouraging the next generation of business leaders. Seeing neighbors cheer on these young makers made the day extra special! 💙

This Saturday, July 11th, Councilmember Lisa Kaplan presents the District 1 Literacy Corner Program running right alongside your favorite weekly stop, the One Natomas Farmers Market.

We have an incredible schedule lined up with special guest creators, activities, and giveaways at North Natomas Regional Park. Grab the family and check out the timeline so you don’t miss a thing:

Literacy Corner Schedule (10:00 AM - 12:30 PM)

10:00 AM — Literacy Corner Opens + Sac Library Tabling: Kick things off with giant Connect Four, fun games, free face-painting, and awesome literacy resources!

10:30 AM — Poetry Reading w/ Noa Sanaa: Come listen to inspiring youth poet Noa Sanaa as she shares her poetry, speaks with the kids, and hosts a live Q&A session!

11:00 AM — Activity: How to Read a Comic + Coloring Contest: Join the crew from Fratwins Comics for a fun workshop and entry into our coloring contest!

11:30 AM — Storytelling w/ Anisha Dwarka: Sit down for a magical author reading of the beautiful children’s book, The Light to My Soil.

12:00 PM — Comic Giveaway + Contest Winner: Find out who won the coloring contest prize and grab an awesome comic book giveaway!

12:30 PM — Literacy Corner Closes: Final call for games, face-paint, and library resources before we pack up for the day.
