I've been meaning to touch base with my former, wonderful customers for quite a while now. Christmas was crazy busy but the New Year has never been a big deal to me, especially since we were stuck doing inventory for so many years. So, this morning, in the predawn peace, I thought I'd say hello! I'm doing well and I hope the same for all of you! 2024 kept me pretty busy as I laid tons of mulch and maintained Paul's beautiful garden. My Mother's Day gift was this beautiful stone that I placed at the very front of the flower beds, as they will always be his labor of love. I also joined my local Eagles Club which is right down the road from my house and I met many wonderful new friends. On July 4th, family and friends gathered for a holiday brunch on my patio. I didn't wander far from home all summer because my mom, who many of you probably remember as a former Heritage employee, had began to badly decline. We spent many hours at the nursing home as she failed to thrive. In late August I did get away for a quick trip to the shores of Lake Huron, praying the entire time that I didn't get an emergency call. On September 6th, I turned the big 70. The celebration was low key but lovely as my mom was in her final days. On September 15th, in the wee morning hours, she went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 102! In late October, I journeyed with my son to Sault Ste. Marie to check on the cottage, which we hadn't been able to tend to in far too long. It was unexplainably wonderful to finally be there again and thankfully the old place was no worse than the last time we were there. I hosted Thanksgiving as is tradition and learned to make gallettes. For that particular holiday it was an apple masterpiece lol. My granddaughter, Isla, sang the lead to close her school's Christmas program and I spent Christmas Eve with my little family, including my wonderful only child! I try to walk my 1.7 mile course as often as possible and get into some crazy workouts with my gymmast granddaughter. I've reunited with old friends and look forward to what 2025 brings. Many blessings for a year that brings the miraculous peace of Christ your way. He's the only reason I've made it through these last two years, happy and whole. Love, Debie
