Burton Island has rare campsite openings — yes, even cabins and lean-tos — available right now!

With the Island Runner ferry out for the season, some folks have shifted plans… which means you’ve got a chance to grab a spot that’s normally booked solid. 🌿

🛶 Arrive by kayak, canoe, paddleboard, or private boat — or coordinate a ride with one of these local options:

Once you’re here, enjoy the peace, the lake breeze, and a bite at the Burton Island Bistro — we’ll be cooking up all your island favorites!

WelcomeBurton Island is a 253-acre park off the southwestern tip of St. Albans Point in Lake Champlain’s 'Inland Sea'. The park is accessible only by boat, with the state’s passenger ferry making the 10-minute trip from Kill Kare State Park.

**Thank You and Goodbye**

Dear friends,

After 35 years at the Burton Island Bistro, it's time to say goodbye. I’ve cherished every moment here and am deeply grateful for the memories we've shared.

A heartfelt thank you to all our customers, the Park Staff, Ferry Captains, and my incredible employees—together, you’ve made Burton Island the happiest place on earth.

I took great pride designing the Burton Island apparel each year. This year’s skeleton mermaid waving goodbye symbolically captures this moment.
