DUTERTE GAVE THE MARCOSES DIGNITY TO COME BACK, MARCOS JR GAVE HIM A DEATH SENTENCE IN A FOREIGN LAND
For years, Filipinos spat at the sound of it. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼𝘀. A name that carried the weight of stolen wealth, torture chambers, and a nation stripped to its bones.
We grew up hearing stories—𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀, 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿’𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗸.

Ferdinand Marcos Sr. wasn’t just a man. He was a wound in the soul of this country. A man who built an empire on the suffering of his own people. A leader who became a monster.

Marcos Jr. watched as the very man who helped him rise was dragged away like a dog. No trial, no honor, no hesitation.
He stood silent as a Filipino president—an old man, sick, frail—was handed over to foreigners like a criminal. Not for stealing billions. Not for killing innocents. But for fighting for his own country.
Marcos Sr. lied, stole, and killed—but even he never sold a Filipino to foreign hands. Marcos Jr. did.
And now, here we are. History has repeated itself, but this time, the betrayal cuts deeper.
Because this time, we let them in.
This time, we gave them a chance to prove they had changed.
And this time, we were the fools.
