Our August Change Matters partner is Midwest Food Connection, bringing classroom food education to students in Twin Cities schools for over thirty years. Midwest Food Connection inspires young people to deepen their relationship with food in ways that benefit their bodies, their communities, and the earth. Through hands-on activities like cooking, gardening, and art, children learn about fresh foods and get excited about making healthy food choices. Round up at the register in any amount!

Wonderstate Coffee will also donate 10% of all sales to Midwest Food Connection in August. 🫶🏽

We had a blast welcoming kids from Pershing Park Summer Camp to the co-op today! 🌞

Their visit included a behind-the-scenes store tour, hands-on activities, and plenty of tasty samples. Along the way, they learned what makes Wedge Co-op unique: community ownership, support for local producers, and a commitment to strengthening our local food system.

Highlights included:
🥒 Sampling local cucumbers and fresh Colorado peaches while completing a produce detective challenge
🥩 Visiting the meat counter for local beef stick samples
🧀 Watching a giant wheel of cheese get cut and wrapped before enjoying cheese stick samples
📦 Exploring our receiving area to see how food makes its way from delivery trucks to store shelves
