Om-Nom Acres is a big dream coming into reality little by little. It is a place to grow food, make a lot of mistakes, learn about the earth, build community, get really dirty, and eat delicious meals. We currently live on a very small suburban lot in Royal Oak where we rent the house and land from family. There
are three marvelous caretakers and four wonderful animals residing here. Dillon, the Om-Nom Acres dreamer and do-er is currently finishing her Master's degree in Social Work for Community Organizing. She spends every ounce of free time learning about farming, developing new skills for the garden or house, and planning next year's harvest. Sammit is Dillon's extraordinarily patient and understanding partner has little to do with the day to day operations but is supportive and certainly enjoys the benefits of fresh produce from the yard. He has a career working long hours, mostly nights, but has a hand in harvesting and weeding. Devin is a professional photographer and cat herder extraordinaire. She is indispensable when it comes to garden upkeep and documenting this whole beautiful but exhausting endeavor. Her overtime hours include helping Dillon predict the future. Molly and Dashel are part time canine magicians and full time defenders of rodent attacks. They often help by digging large holes in the backyard to prepare for business expansion. Zim and Gir do very little outside work and are primarily responsible for the business aspect of Om-Nom Acres. They shred important documents, keep the electronics warmed up for use, and are co-presidents of the local bird watching committee. We would love to answer any questions you have and encourage you to stop by and check us out! Next year's harvest will be divided among volunteers who help develop the land (this could be you!) and we hope to be selling small produce shares in 2014.
