I think all of my regular customers knew my parents. They were there three out of five days at 1 o'clock for their lunch.

If we were busy though, they would put lunch aside and help. I never charged them for lunch and they never charged me for labor, lol.

My father passed away last Wednesday after an extended illness. Mom and I are sad but at peace, knowing that we will see him again in heaven.

His funeral is tomorrow. Hopefully I've attached the obituary correctly.

It has been a crazy four weeks.

Here are some throwback pictures for you.

We started cleaning out the inside of 100 years of Leonard's Jewelers in October and November 1995. If memory serves me right all the old jewelry cases went to Debbie Barnhardt Jewelers when it was still out in Spencer. 

These pictures are from December 1995 until March 1996 when we started turning a jewelry store into a deli.

It seems like yesterday and a lot more than 30 years ago, lol.

Thank you to my friend, Chandler Inions, for his kind words and fond remembrances in saying farewell to The Sidewalk Deli in The Salisbury Post.

I've always believed that a smile and a kindhearted word can make everybody's day better.

It's nice to be thought of this way.

Equipment and dry goods are going out of the deli left and right.

I had no idea how much the soup kettles cost these days. If you would like to make me an offer, let me know.

They work perfectly. I'm hoping to get $2500 or best offer.

After 29 years and one day, it's our last day.

I think I was a lot more worried about things on our first day of business than I am today.

I've been blessed in so many ways. Thank you all. Words fail me.
