Here is a great chance to showcase some of the amazing local food we have in the valley. Idea: buy some local food at the farmers market and show folks what a great potluck meal you can create at SVS's Competitive Potluck at the Hub!

Remember last year how much fun we had at the Competitive Potluck?
We're hosting another Competitive Potluck in a couple weeks at the Hub!

This year's theme: Wild and Alive

This could be food that’s wild or alive, like fermented food, probiotic and good for your gut, or something harvested from the wild. Or maybe it’s just wildly tasty!
Contestants will enter their best (wild) potluck dish to share and compete, sized to serve a crowd.
Mark your calendars and start planning those creative dishes!

Snippits of summer wildcrafting by Marie Mahaffey with Matrilegend Herbs- come see her this Saturday and ask about what she makes with these amazing wild plants.

"One of the many benefits of wild crafting is getting out in the country. Even with the smoke, it was a wonderful Tuesday morning driving the loop from Cow Creek to Yearian Creek. I Included two pics from the divide. This is really what I enjoy, an excuse to see the beautiful country we live in.

I went looking for gumweed and yarrow. The summer has been so hot and dry, the yarrow was already gone.

Just for fun, I added a pic of one of my raised beds with echinacea and bee balm. It's kind of pretty."

The Lemhi County Farmers Market was started by Salmon Valley Stewardship with the mission to increase access to fresh, healthy food, and support our small local businesses by providing a weekly farmers market here in Lemhi County.
We're so grateful for those motivated customers who seek out the market each week, and for our food producers who strive to make the market a place of abundant fresh and tasty food.
