THE KING REMEMBERED ME

When I read the story of Mephibosheth, I see more than a man who was lame in both feet. I see someone whose life changed through circumstances he did not choose.

Mephibosheth was born into royalty, but life took an unexpected turn. He lost people he loved, lost the life he could have had, and found himself living far away from the palace in Lo-debar.

But his story did not end there.

One day, King David asked, “Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” ~ 2 Samuel 9:1

And suddenly, the forgotten man was remembered.

That part speaks deeply to me.

I have had seasons in my own life when things did not go according to the picture I once had in my mind. I have experienced disappointments, responsibilities, struggles, tears, and moments when I simply had to keep going.

There were things that could have stopped me.

But they didn't.

Like Mephibosheth, I have learned that where life drops you does not have to be where your story ends.

The same Mephibosheth who lived in Lo-debar was eventually summoned to the palace. The same man who might have believed he had been forgotten was given back his inheritance. And the same man who was lame in both feet was given a permanent seat at the king's table.

That is GRACE.

And when I look at my life today, I can say: God remembered me.

Not because every chapter has been easy.
Not because everything happened the way I planned.
Not because I never cried or questioned what was happening.

But because through it all, God kept me.

I am still standing.
I am still growing.
I am still dreaming.
I am still raising my children.
I am still serving.
I am still creating.
I am still becoming the woman God has called me to be.

And my story is not finished.

Maybe you are reading this while you're in your own Lo-debar.

Maybe life has dropped you somewhere you never expected to be.

Maybe you've watched other people move forward while wondering, “God, have You forgotten me?”

Remember Mephibosheth.

The king knew his name.
The king knew where he was.
And when the appointed time came, the king sent for him.

Your present situation is not necessarily your final destination.

Your scars do not cancel your purpose.

Your difficult chapters do not erase God's plan for your life.

And what you lost does not mean you have lost everything that is ahead of you.

Sometimes the chapter that feels like the end is only the chapter before restoration.

I am learning not to judge my entire story by one painful season.

Because if God could take Mephibosheth from Lo-debar and give him a place at the king's table, I can trust God with the chapters of my life that I still don't understand.

I am not forgotten.
I am remembered.
I am preserved.
I am still becoming.
And by the grace of God, my story is still being written.

And if you are reading my story while going through your own difficult season, I pray that my testimony reminds you of this:

Don't give up in Lo-debar. The King has not forgotten your name.

WORD FOR TODAY — GRATITUDE 🌿
GRATITUDE ❤️
Today, don’t focus only on what is missing. Take a moment to thank God for what is already present.
For life. For family. For another morning. For the battles you survived and the blessings you sometimes overlook.
A grateful heart may not have everything, but it recognizes that every day is still a gift. 🙏🏽✨
