Well friends and family, it seems I find myself in a hospital again. About 7 to 9 days ago, began experiencing quite a bit of pain in my left knee, which I had replaced back in '05. The pain got worse over the next 24 to 36 hours to the point where I could not bear to put any pressure on the leg at all. Since I couldnb several days for a bed in Corpus Christi. I opted for San Antonio of course.
Well, it's a serious staph infection. They removed the hardware from the knee replacement done back in '05 and inserted a "spacer" permeated with antibiotics. I'm supposed to be on IV antibiotics twice a day for the next 5 weeks. If there's no remaining infection after 6 weeks, then they can replace the knee.
