Good afternoon, everyone.
First of all, I want to thank you all for being here today. It's unreal to stand here as we prepare to step away from something that has been such a huge part of our lives for over forty years. When we purchased the store 828 Irving market we had no idea the journey it would take us on. This store has truly been our baby. As a family we worked every day to build it, nurture it, and keep it an essential part of the neighborhood.
Over the years, the market has supported three families. It has helped put our children through college, and it has been a place where we’ve shared countless memories together, both big and small. Whether it was sharing laughs over the counter, catching up on the latest neighborhood news, or arguing with my brothers near the counter, this place has been more than just a store—it’s been a part of the fabric of our community and our family.
We couldn't have done it without the loyalty and support of all of you—our customers, friends, and neighbors. You’ve trusted us to serve you for so many years, and for that, we are forever grateful. You’ve made 828 Irving Market more than just a business; you’ve made it a family.
As I look forward to retirement, I’m excited to relax a little, travel, and see some of the world—something I've been putting off for quite some time. But after a year or two, I know I’ll be itching to get back to work–at least a few days a week. I’m not the type to sit still for long!
I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who supported us, our family, and the store throughout the years. This isn't a goodbye—it’s just the beginning of a new chapter.
828 Irving Market may no longer have my hands on the day-to-day operations, but it will always have a special place in our hearts .
