In these times of uncertainty, we have to look out for each other. Chocolate Covered is temporarily closed / limited to appointment hours. The health and safety of our visitors and team is our top priority. But we are not going anywhere- we are here - and we love and miss you all,

While closed, our mission continues. Jack will be at the shop doing some cleaning and catching up on projects - so if you walk by and see him inside, just knock! You can reach us through email to find out what days we will be in or just to check in - and- we are happy to ship chocolate out to ya !

This past few days were a whirlwind of electric energy in the world of chocolate as we gathered for the Craft Chocolate Experience: San Francisco at Palace of fine Arts in San Francisco.
People wandered in from every part of the world - the movers and shakers, the brightest stars of the craft chocolate movement- those who work the soil, fix the wells, the roasters, the finishers. A million excited conversations and connections buzzing in the air - Our hearts full- and every bit of chocolate tasted.
like going to church for us all.
There are just waaayyyy too many stories and photos to post here - but here are a few old friends and new.
We can’t wait to see you all again next year! Until then, our hearts are out there with you, growing, experimenting and creating.

It’s been a huge week in the world of chocolate- Cocoa growers, bean to bar masters and expert chocolatiers from all points of the world have come to the Bay Area for the Craft Chocolate Experience: San Francisco, and of course thier first stop is to visit Jack here at the shop to see what’s happening. The iconic Denise Castronovo stopped by yesterday and chatted with us a bit on her vision in the world of chocolate 🤩

For those of you who don’t already know us, Chocolate Covered is a tiny but mighty little shop in San Francisco that features the widest variety of craft bean-to-bar chocolates in the country, it’s a total game changer in the chocolate world.

These chocolates come from both local chocolatiers as well as from across the United States, Canada, England, France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Eastern Europe, South America, Mexico, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, Africa, the Middle East, and more.

The owner, Jack, has tasted it all and knows a thing or two about great chocolate.

There is literally something for everyone..from single Origin beans to fancy inclusion such as chili, olives & bread, blue cheese, pears and toasted almonds to artisanal milk chocolates.

Everything here will set your soul on fire. ✨

It seems like a perfect storybook tale, In an epic move from the clang and clutter of the Bay Area, David and Leslie moved Arete Fine Chocolate to a tiny beautiful town called Spencer, with rolling hills and big dreamy cloud filled blue skies, each building rich with history. As we strolled through the new home of Areté -listening to David as he talks about hopes, dreams and taking root...we were so impressed at the thought, care and dedication taken to repair and add upgrades to the worn but soulful old brick building in which magic will soon be made. Areté will be in full production as soon as mid September - we can’t wait to have them back✨

Every time I eat this Solstice 70% bar made with a Ugandan bean, while it taste delicious-
I have more of an emotional daydreamy experience..
The minute this lil square of lovely hits my tongue and starts to melt ..
I feel like I can smell honeysuckles and green grass and warm sun, maybe like I’m laying in a field with butterflies and flowers and good friends. ✨

This bar is really and truly worth the trek to get your hand on.

Please join the Chocolate Covered team in collecting supplies for the people and animals left homeless by the horrific fires in the Lake County and Redding areas:

*Basic clothing, new or clean used/good condition.
All sizes. Adults & children.
*NEW SOCKS
*Clean blankets
*Diapers/baby wipes etc
*Crates for animals
*Food for animals
*Masks for smoke
*Basic hygiene supplies:
toothpaste/tooth brushes/toilet paper etc

We will add to this list as we get more clear information on what is needed.

We will be driving up to Tehema county and surrounding areas on Monday with these supplies.
With the devastation and chaos of all of these fires..
all of our collective hearts heavy -
