There are so many amazing women in the cheese industry! It was a large part of what inspired me to open Mission Cheese and continues to inspire me today 🙌 From Allison Hooper , Mary Keen , and Judy Schad pioneering goat cheese in the 🇺🇸 to Peg & Sue changing the cheese game in CA and beyond...there are countless more, but today I’d like to honor these two women!❤️

Sisters in real life and sisters in 🧀 Marnie and Lydia run two amazing shops in SoCal & 🙌 Their passion for the industry and dedication to the community is a site to behold ❤️ Anyone who has talked to them can feel it ✨ Conversations, meals (oh the meals!) and laughs with these two made MC better, make the cheese world better, and make me better 🙌 I know it has been a bu**er of a year (to say the least) and Marnie & Lydia have hustled and drank wine through it with remarkable grace (and maybe a few tears). Thank you both for all the inspiration ❤️ Now everyone in LA area...go buy all the 🧀

Y’all know how much we ❤️ that glorious week in February that sends us about the bay celebrating delicious beer 🍺 and pairing it up with American gems 🧀 There will be no events for us this year...but make sure you head over to and grab some tasty brews to enjoy at home with your favorite 🧀 We’re eying the sampler by tonight 🤘🍺❤️🙌

This tree is 💯 Vermont. When I traveled the country before opening MC I found myself being defensive of all other dairy states (primarily my homelands WI and CA). It felt like Vermonters could have used some humility about their cheese making prowess. 10 years later...I get it. Vermont cares so much...and it shows 🧀 🙏❤️

MC fam...we have some news. This little cheese place is going to sleep at the end of the month. After nearly 10 years of slinging amazing American cheeses, this decision has so many layers, and is not one that was made lightly. Operating as we have had to since March, with little relief, is a major component...but by far not the only one. Much has to be done to change the way we as a community interact with and manage small independent businesses if we want them to exist. If you’re reading this...you likely do and you’re the reason we made it this far. Thank you thank you thank you.

We are so proud of the work we’ve done and we are forever grateful to you for joining us on this journey. The twinkle in your eyes when we delivered the cheese flights was our fuel. The excitement we witnessed when you tasted that pairing was magic. We urge you to take those moments with you to the grocery (or preferably your local cheese shop) and support small producers when you can.

Much more to say, but for now we’re going to sling all the cheese and wine that’s humanly possible for the next two weeks! We love you ❤️ Let’s bring it home! 🧀💪🙌
