History of Chicos Market
In 1928, brothers Sam and Gus Chicos (Tsakopoulos) purchased a corner market in San Francisco's Nob Hill. Over time, it became an integral part of the Nob Hill community, and like other family businesses, the market was eventually passed down to their sons, 'big' Sam and 'little' Sam. For more than 75 years, Chicos Market provided an anchor for the neighborhood and its community. Today, Greg and Sophia Markoulakis continue the tradition by offering fresh and approachable provisions to the Nob Hill community and beyond. Let’s keep corner markets alive!
