J&P Cosentino Family Farm The last working orchard in San Jose. "Oasis of some of the world’s most exquisite fruit" - Metro Silicon Valley Come by and see us!

Happily located in the Valley of Hearts Delight since 1945 and nurtured by five generations of the Cosentino family, the farm has been called “ The Secret Garden” by the San Jose Mercury News. We have fruit-year round and care for more than thirty types of peaches, including some old-fashioned varieties that are truly fabulous. We also grow a diverse array of plums, prunes, nectarines, apples, ap

ricots, figs, bush berries, persimmons, grapes, and more. Because of our warm days, cool nights, and the most fertile soil in California, the fruit grown here is mouthwatering. We pick our fruit fully ripe, much riper than commercial growers giving our fruit the flavor it was meant to have. Our farming practices are traditional and environmental, and we are the last working orchard remaining in San Jose.

🍅🍅🍅THREE incredible tomatoes on the farmstand this weekend:

👉Canestrino di Lucca Italian tomatoes are sweet with very low acidity, meaty, with little water or seeds. Makes a great sauce, but also great enjoyed fresh!

👉Brad's Atomic are huge grape tomatoes that are sweet with a complex flavor. Large enough to throw on the grill, but still a great size to throw onto a salad!

👉Dry Farmed Early Girl tomatoes are our summertime favorite. By withholding water, the plant dive deep their roots into moisture-retentive soils, concentrating natural sugars, acids, and rich savory profiles into smaller, denser fruits for optimal flavor.

🐈This past Saturday was International Cat day...so this post is a few days late!

Meet the farm cats. 😻 This crew was rescued on farmer Kari's vacation this past spring. It went from feeding a feral cat on day 1 to realizing she was a nursing mom on day 2 🍼, and by day 3 we were fully committed to helping capture the sweet momma and her 6 babies. 😅 A loooooooong story short ✈️ they have made the farm their home (minus 2 that were tame enough to get adopted to amazing homes).

Meet Mango (orange tabby), Nubiana (brown tabby), Crawford & Olallie (cream tabby & black/white shorthair) & momma cat Feijoa (tortie). 🙌

They are now all fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. And living their best life getting daily treats and love 💖in the luxury cat condo built by the handy member of the farm family, Simon. 💪

They've just started to explore the spaces around their kitty home, so hopefully they will make an appearance near the farmstand at some point, but we're letting them set the pace. ⏳ We just adore this crew and are happy to have them on critter duty too! 👍
