There is limited space available for the watermelon eating contest, sign up at market. Winner receives a cash prize!

Stop the Watermelon Festival this Wednesday from 4-8pm! Sign up for the Watermelon Eating Contest and be in the running for a cash prize! The contest starts at 5:30pm. Head to the Information Booth to sign up. Entrees are limited. Open to all ages. We will have a contest for children and one for adults. The person who eats the most in 90 seconds or less wins!

Other fun activities include kids crafts, Cooking Demo, and Guess the Weight of the Watermelon.

Storytime returns this Wednesday! Families will love Storytime today at the Santana Row Farmers’Market! Look for the Storytime tent near the fountain and giant chessboard. Books will be read throughout day.

When the weather is hot hot hot, reach for cooling foods like cucumber and melon! These foods are high in water content and really save the day when temperatures are on the rise! Keep it simple and slice and drizzle with a little lime or lemon and a dash of sea salt. Or get fancy, dust off the blender and add cucumber, watermelon, lime and a dash of salt. Blend and you've got yourself a refreshing juice!

Before heading to market, take inventory of your produce. If it is a little soft or wilted, don't worry, there is still life in it yet!
🍅Transform your tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers into a cooling gazpacho or fresh salsa!
🍓Simmer fruit into a fresh compote and drizzle over a scoop of ice cream.
🍉Freeze watermelon in triangles and shred in a fine grater for a healthy spin on shaved ice.
🍓Make smoothies and freeze in popsicle molds
🌿Transform wilted fresh herbs and make a pesto, herbed butter, herbed salt, or dry them and store in jars.

We are getting ready for Kids Day at the Santana Row Farmers' Market this Wednesday from 4-8pm. We will have a fun kids craft, kids cooking classes throughout the day(no classes during puppet show), puppet show atr 5:30pm, Storytime Princess and much more!

🎉Join us for Kids Day Wednesday, July 15th from 4-8pm at the Santana Row Farmers' Market!

Activities include :
🎭Marionette puppet show at 5:30pm
🥗Kids cooking class
🎨Kids crafts
🎨Face painting & balloon art

👩‍🍳The kids will love our cooking classes throughout the day! Each class runs for about 20 minutes. They will learn how to make their very own healthy snack with farm fresh ingredients. Then stop by our kids craft area where they can make a fun craft!
