When I was growing up, my engineer dad decided to bake bread. He didn't normally hang out in the kitchen, but when he did, the aroma of baking bread crept into every corner of the house. The smell and taste of that bread meant comfort and home to me. My goal with The Laughing Loaf is to provide homebaked bread that brings a smile to your face, whether you have dietary restrictions or not. Dairy or

egg free? Our breads are made to order to meet your specific needs. I grew up with the wonder of cereal boxes and Cracker Jacks boxes that included a prize inside. So every laughing loaf includes a joke to make you smile even more (or just groan at how bad it is.)

Oh, the deep, rich and fecund smell of levain (French-style sourdough starter) ready to be incorporated into bread dough! It reminds me of the smell of a wine cellar, and looks like a bowl of stringy, bubbly goo. Few can truly appreciate it. But the final result is delicious.
