On November 2, we honor and celebrate the lives of our ancestors and loved ones who have passed on.
Día de los Mu***os, Day of the Dead, is a beautiful Mexican tradition that reminds us death is not the end, but a continuation of love that never fades.

Families and friends gather to build colorful ofrendas (altars) adorned with marigolds, candles, photos, food, and memories, inviting the spirits of our loved ones to return for one joyful day of remembrance and reunion. 🌸✨

Día de los Mu***os for Pets at the San Marcos Market 🕯️💛

On this beautiful day, we come together to honor and remember the beloved pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge.
Día de los Mu***os, the Day of the Dead is a sacred Mexican tradition that celebrates the lives of those who have passed, reminding us that love never dies.

This special celebration for pets is filled with heart and gratitude.
We build colorful altars adorned with marigolds, candles, and photos of our furry (and feathered) companions, offering their favorite treats and toys to welcome their spirits back for a joyful reunion. 🐶🐱🕊️

✨ Join us in remembering your loyal friends and celebrating the unconditional love they gave. We have orange carnations in store for you to pick up for your alters.

Let’s celebrate the eternal bond between humans and their animal companions. 🌈💐

No One is Illegal.

"I take issue with many people's descriptions of people being "illegal" immigrants. There aren't any illegal human beings as far as I'm concerned."
— Dennis Kucinich

Why is the term "illegal" offensive?
"The term "illegal" is offensive because it's dehumanizing, racially charged, and legally inaccurate. It's often used to describe immigrants, especially people of color, in a way that's divisive and can lead to discrimination and violence.

The term implies that immigrants are subhuman and undeserving. It can lead to the belief that an undocumented immigrant's existence is illegal.

[It is] legally inaccurate: The term assumes guilt, even though different cases are treated differently under the law. It implies finality, even though immigration status can be adjusted."

Let’s keep the magic of this tradition alive—one slice at a time. ❤️

Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) is a traditional Mexican holiday honoring and remembering loved ones who have passed away. It's celebrated on November 1st and 2nd.

November 1st: Día de los Inocentes (Day of the Innocents)

Honors children and infants who have passed away.

November 2nd: Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead)

Honors adults who have passed away.

Family and friends gather to:

1. Create altars with photos, flowers, candles, and favorite items.
2. Visit cemeteries to clean and decorate graves.
3. Share stories, food, and drinks.
4. Believe that the spirits of the deceased return to earth on these days.

Symbolism:

· Marigolds (zempasúchil) guide spirits home.
· Skulls (alfeñiques) and sugar skulls represent the cycle of life and death.
· Papel picado (tissue paper banners) add color and festivity.

Day of the Dead is a celebration of love, family, and heritage, rather than a mournful occasion.
