There’s something special about watching your kids not just grow—but build. Today it’s a new Joel Salatin chicken tractor, but what we really see is a young man learning responsibility, craftsmanship, and what it means to take pride in his work.

We couldn’t be more proud of the young men both of our boys are becoming. Not afraid of hard work, willing to learn, and growing into the kind of men who will leave things better than they found them.

This is what farming is really about. ❤️🌱

Three years ago today, Gal came barreling into our lives — big paws, bigger personality, and zero interest in doing things the easy way.

She’s been a pain in the butt at times (anyone with a Great Pyrenees gets it 😅)… but far more than that, she’s been an incredible blessing. A fierce protector, a loyal companion, and a steady presence watching over both our family and our farm.
From stubborn moments to quiet nights on pasture, she’s become a piece of what makes this place feel like home.

Happy 3 years with us, Gal. We wouldn’t trade you for anything 🤍🐾

There’s something special about bringing a piece of history back to life.

This 1972 John Deere 4020 isn’t just a tractor… it’s a tool that helps us steward our land the right way.
Out here, every decision we make is about building life back into the soil—and this machine plays a bigger role than you might think:

🌱 Gentle on Pasture
With the right implements, we can manage fields without overworking the soil—protecting structure, microbes, and long-term fertility.

🐔 Supporting Our Livestock Systems
From moving equipment to setting up infrastructure for our birds and pigs, this tractor helps us stay efficient without compromising our regenerative principles.

🌾 Building Soil, Not Breaking It
Whether it’s spreading compost, reseeding pasture, or managing forage, we’re focused on feeding the ground—not stripping it.

♻️ Longevity Over Waste
A 50+ year-old tractor still doing real work… that’s sustainability. Repairable, reliable, and built to last.
We’re not chasing “new.”

We’re chasing what works—and what honors the land.
This old iron is going to help us do just that.

Well said!

Some traditions aren’t about big moments—they’re built quietly, week after week, alongside neighbors.

They’re found in the simple joy of choosing ingredients grown, raised, or baked just miles away. In familiar faces, friendly conversations, and knowing the people who bring your food to life. In the feeling of slowing down—just a little—in the middle of a busy week.

That’s what Wednesdays at the Coffee Creek Farmers Market are all about.

Join us from 3–7 pm starting April 8th to shop fresh, locally farmed produce, meats, and breads, along with ready-to-eat favorites, artisan goods, and more from the farmers, bakers, and makers who make NWI so special.

Whether you already come every week or are just beginning the tradition, there’s a place for you here.

Come for what you need. Stay for what you didn’t know you were missing.

We’ll see you Wednesday.

Can't wait to see everyone April 8th!

Don’t forget to order your eggs for this week!

Our farm-free, non-GMO eggs are coming from hens that spend their days out on pasture doing what chickens are meant to do—scratching, foraging, and soaking up fresh air and sunshine. The result? Eggs with rich golden yolks, incredible flavor, and nutrition you can feel good about feeding your family.

If eggs are part of your breakfast, baking, or weekly meal prep, make sure you’re stocked up with Clarke Family Farms eggs.

👉 Place your egg orders for this week so we can have them ready for you!

Thank you for supporting a local family farm and choosing food raised with care.

A breakfast made the way it should be.

This breakfast casserole brings together three staples from our farm — pasture-raised eggs, Clarke Family Farms breakfast sausage, and our uncured bacon. When animals are raised with care and on pasture, the difference shows up in both flavor and nutrition. Real food, raised with intention.

Clarke Family Farms Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients:
• 8 large Clarke Family Farms eggs
• 1 cup sour cream
• 1 lb Clarke Family Farms breakfast sausage
• 8 slices Clarke Family Farms uncured bacon, cooked & crumbled
• 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
• ½ yellow onion, cooked
• Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Directions:
Cook the onion in olive oil until transparent, then brown the sausage. Cook the bacon and crumble. In a bowl, whisk eggs, sour cream, and seasonings. Layer sausage on the bottom of a greased casserole dish, pour egg mixture over top, then add cheddar cheese and bacon. Bake uncovered at 350°F for 30–35 minutes.

Good farming leads to good food.

That’s one big Mother Hen! 🪿🥚

Our lady goose has started her annual egg laying and decided the hen house is the perfect spot. Apparently she missed the memo that she’s not technically a chicken.

Geese are creatures of habit when it comes to laying. Once they pick a nesting location, they’ll return to the same general area year after year—especially if it feels safe, dry, and protected. They typically lay in early spring, often producing one egg every 1–2 days until their clutch is complete. And when she’s ready to set, she sets — becoming fiercely protective and committed to the nest.

Safe to say… the chickens have accepted their new supervisor.
