The market has been in existence for over 30 years and includes 6 local locations. Our Association of 130 grower members, owned and operated by the members and its board of directors, is committed to helping promote local family farmers, and protecting the environment by sustaining and restoring surrounding greenbelt areas. The SBCFMA continues working diligently to bring the freshest and most nut

ritious produce our rich local agricultural land has to offer for you and your families. The markets serve to strengthen the local communities ties and will help to provide weekly events at no cost while enhancing our community's quality of life. Each week the farmers in the marketplace display a colorful bounty of agricultural products grown right in our backyard. Seasonal diversity is available year round rain or shine.

🌻The beautiful saga of Organic Japanese Sunflowers continues at The Garden Of! These Sunflowers last weeks and weeks in water and continue to bloom.

🍐Pear season is popping up at Santa Ynez Gardens and at Avila and Sons Farms.

🪴The cutest and most tolerant purple dwarf Statice and scented Geraniums (apple, coconut and lemon) at Plantsmith Nursery.

😤💪🏽Buckle up Santa Barbara Certified Farmers Market customers, we're going to break down a big part of what it is we stand for.

Thank you on Insta for the opportunity to highlight our Certified Farmers Market and this little known thing coming up in our county ✨Farm Day✨

Maybe you've wondered what the "Certified" part of our title stands for? Certified means, to us, that everyone in our membership is Certified by the Agricultural Department that they grow what they sell. We partner with County Ag. to ensure that all our Farmers are held accountable for what they bring to market. We strive to know Where they grow, What they grow, How they grow and Who our Farmers are. Each stand has a banner with that farm's business name, county of operation and a growers permit that has their farm address and a list of what they grow. You can ask to see this, it's updated yearly! County Ag and our staff visit our Farmers and their farms. It helps us to better know seasonal produce, different growing climates/locations and how to help advertise our Farmers.

There are some products that are outside county Ag certification ie: meat, fish, honey and anything processed in a commercial kitchen. Our Markets are run by Farmers so we require that all our vendors are singular producers of their product. This means that when you buy from a Farmer/Rancher/ Fishermen/ Bee Keeper at our market you are buying from the business that grows and produces that product.

That brings us to Farm Day! Santa Barbara County Farm Day is coming up on Sept 19th. Visit our participating Farms and see where they grow, get a full tour with fun activities. Learn about food production, farm function and put your mouth where your money is.

🚨We have NEW FARMERS!🚨 Building up our 1000 block of State St and bringing back the amazing, Organic and local Finley Farms! Show these returning Farmers some love and check out the spread from hardworking Farmer Chris Finley. Originally growing every produce item you could find in a delicious salsa and expanding from there.

🏵️The flower of Fiesta here at the Farmers Market will always be the Marigold. Right smack dab in the peak of Marigold season, bright and fragrant to boot. Find these beauties at Cosecha Farm.

🌶️ Beast mode Jalapenos at Chavez Family Farm. These beauties are a "Catarino" variety perfect for Farmer Catarino Chavez at Chavez Family Farms. This variety is thick skinned, juicy and growing in heat.

🌻 The Organic Japanese Sunflowers at Garden Of...Farm are a sight to behold. Bumper crop!

🫘Dried beans and Walnut Oil Rancho La Vina.

🌰Figs hitting their peak season, find 5 different varieties at Avila and Sons Farms. "Brown Turkey," "Peter Honey," "Mission" and "Panache" Figs, just to name a few. Don't miss their Sweet yellow corn, they brought just a couple boxes today.

🍄‍🟫Try the Mushroom jerky at Riviera Mushrooms. Locally farmed and handcrafted.
