At Las Milpas Farm in El Guíque, Maria Orozco shared more than her farm—she shared her story. Working alongside her mother and supported by her family, Maria has built a thriving farm rooted in tradition, community, and care.

From tasting carrot top agüita made with ingredients grown just steps away to learning about her journey to becoming a Santa Fe Farmers Market vendor, our guests got a beautiful glimpse into the people and stories behind local food.

During our recent visit to Malandro Farm, farmer Lisa Anderson shared how 20 years of farming have taught her the importance of growing fresh, local food that nourishes both people and communities. From acequia-fed fields to vibrant seasonal crops, her work reminds us that supporting local agriculture is an investment in our collective health.

Did you know? 💚

The Institute partners with the New Mexico Department of Health to provide food distribution bags filled with fresh local produce and NM staples (beans and chiles!)

Last week, our team assembled more than 100 bags to distribute at the Many Mothers Community Event, and this week we're preparing nearly 100 more for San Felipe and Sandia Pueblos.

Partnerships like these help expand access to nutritious local foods while connecting farmers with the communities that need them most. 🌱🥕🍎

The Tianguis Mobile Market will be at the Santa Fe Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Community Engagement Day tomorrow, Saturday June 6, from 1 to 7pm at Santa Fe Brewing Company. There will be tons of vendors, a car show, and live music! Come on out and see us! 💚🌱🌞

We're not quite ready to stop talking about how wonderful the Farm Tour & Luncheon was! A huge thank you to the incredible women farmers who welcomed us, shared their stories, and gave us a glimpse into their daily lives. Our guests had a fantastic time (and we did too!).

We’ll depart from the Railyard Water Tower on Sunday, May 31 at 9:00 AM sharp, returning to Santa Fe by 12:30 PM for a fabulous lunch at the Santa Fe School of Cooking - prepared with as many farm-fresh ingredients as possible, sourced from local Market vendors! Come on, let's go!🚜🥕
