Music at the Market this week: The Chameleons- music from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

Wow! This season went by so fast! We welcomed new vendors and returning vendors, saw an increase in new customers at the market and got to catch up with all of our customers who have been coming over the years to enjoy our market and buy the best foods for our families. It's time to back it up and say goodbye for now, but we will be busy getting things prepped for next year's market.

I received a note last week from Julie at Green Barn Chocolates asking me to please place it in the newsletter. Unfortunately, I wrote the newsletter ahead of time as I was going out of the country and missed her message. Here is what she said:
"Green Barn Chocolates will NOT be at the market for the balance of the season as anticipated. We've had a death in the family out-of-state, so that is our focus. I just want to thank everyone for their patronage. We so enjoyed our time at the market and expect to return in 2026! Thanks so much!"
From all of us at the market, our condolences to you, Paul and your family on your loss. Don't forget to check in with the vendors to see what markets they will do during the winter and/or if they will make special deliveries in our area. It's a great way to keep in touch with your faves and support them!

Plan on seeing: Revolution Farm, La Capilla Hops Farm, Santa Fe Sconery, Orozco Farms, El Guique Farm, Toni's Farm, Evelyn's Farm, Cloud Cliff Bakery, Nice2Feed You, Drift & Porter, Tomato Tomahto, Crepas-Oh!, Evelyn's Farm, Hernandez Farm, A Bee Honey, Carol Martinez Jewelry, oSEWnice, Twin Peaks Microgreens, Oakeley Jerky, and remember, you never know who may show up at the last minute!
Hope you enjoyed yourself at the market this season and we can't wait to see you next season! In advance, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

-Susan and the gang - Alice, Greg, Annette, Rogelio, Ken, Susan (the other Susan!), Roger, Andrew, & Clarissa)

Music at the Market this week: Squirrellhead - music from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

Two more markets left in the 2025 season, hard to believe. I am out of town this week, but everything is in the great hands of Alice and her magical crew: Annette, Greg, Rogelio, and Clarissa. Ken, like me is out this week, but will be back for the final day on October 3rd as will I.

I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Sue Garfitt, real estate broker extraordinaire, who came to our rescue and gave us a very generous check to purchase a sturdy and reliable new tent for the market. We hope to have it delivered to us by the last market. Sue, your generosity to Bienvenidos Outreach/Eldorado Farmers' Market is truly appreciated and will never be forgotten. This is what it is all about - helping each other to achieve our missions and make our community thrive.

Don't forget to check in with the vendors to see what markets they will do during the winter and/or if they will make special deliveries in our area. It's a great way to keep in touch with your faves and support them!

Last week's market was great, with many vendors participating and customers enjoying the market. I usually give the vendors until the day before to let me know if they plan to attend, but with my being away, that is not possible. Most of the vendors will be back this week and with the exception of one or two, will also be at the last market on October 3rd.

Plan on seeing: Jerusalem Cafe, Revolution Farm, La Capilla Hops Farm, Santa Fe Sconery, Green Barn Chocolates, Orozco Farms, El Guique Farm, Toni's Farm, Evelyn's Farm, Cloud Cliff Bakery, Nice2Feed You, Drift & Porter, Tomato Tomahto, Crepas-Oh!, Evelyn's Farm, Zamora's, Hernandez Farm, A Bee Honey, Carol Martinez Jewelry, oSEWnice, Twin Peaks Microgreens, Zamora's, Oakeley Jerky, Garcia's Bakery, and more at the market during the next two weeks. Lots of great foods, beautiful and affordable jewelry and hand-made gifts (great and unique items for the people on your upcoming holiday season gift list), and great music--all in one space!
Hope you have a great time at the market, and I'll see you next week!

-Susan

Music at the Market this week: Chris Harrell & Friends - music from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

Can we really be only 3 markets away from the end of the season already? Time flew by this year and now it is time for us to stop wrapping up the season and begin preparing for Season 2026! It's been a crazy year. We had 3 of our tents stolen (along with some other items we rely on to run the market), 2 tents blown to bits by dust devils (scary little buggers and so powerful!), but through it all, we had a blast with our vendors and clients. Eldorado is truly a wonderful community. Thank you to all who have supported us by coming to the market, donating food, clothing and money to us and also, helping to spread the word about what we do. You are the best!

Don't forget to check in with the vendors to see what markets they will do during the winter and/or if they will make special deliveries in our area. It's a great way to keep in touch with your faves and support them!

Last week, we had a number of vendors who had other obligations and could not attend the market, so we decided not to have the raffle as there would not have been enough prizes to collect. All tickets will also enter in this week's raffle for a chance to win.

Please note: some vendors will leave the market early if they are sold out, bad weather either here or where they live/farm, or in some cases, need to leave because of other commitments. If you really need something and know you will not be there by at least 5:30pm, please feel free to call us and we will put you in touch with the vendor (or vendors) you wish to purchase items from, and we will hold your packages for pickup between 5:45-6:30pm. Call us at 505-479-0621 before 5:00pm if you would like to use this service.

Only 5 more markets left for the season! It's hard to believe it is almost over. I really haven't had time to cook too much lately, so I will be stocking up this month with fruits and veggies to prepare for the winter. I love making a large pot of spaghetti sauce from fresh tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, carrots, and spices that will give me enough bags of sauce to keep in the freezer for cold winter dinners. What do you like to prepare for the winter?

Hot Pizzas and pizza doughs for you to make your favorite pies at home will be available from a new vendor this week. See below for more info.

destructive, and pretty well spaced to help our pastures grow as well or better than we have seen in several decades.
Eggs Eggs Eggs !
Ask about "chicken club"??? a new concept for backyard chicken raising.
The garden is holding up well and producing nicely. We are still
without much vegetable garden help in general. If we have any harvest
help we will be hoping to harvest:
vegetables:
plenty Collards
plenty Basil
some broccoli florets
some heirloom rampicante zucchinis
some lettuce mix
maybe some baby bok choi and g*i lan
maybe a little spinach.
We have some flowers, started by the international exchange farmer who
got things going here in May and June:
Basil
four o'clock
sunflower Florenza
rudbeckia Sahara
Sissinghurst white poppy
we will bring what we can!
We have several dozen beautiful basil plants: mostly Genovese and some
"Holy basil" (Ocimum Sanctum). These plants could provide fresh basil
to people in their own kitchen for several months if potted into larger
containers. We will bring some to the market that are in 3-to-4-inch
diameter containers. AND we offer that IF a market customer prefers,
bring us your favorite pot, perhaps 8-inch minimum diameter, and for a
mutually agreed on price we'll transplant it for you and bring it back
the following week.

Thanks! - Steve"

Music at the Market this week: - Freddie Schwartz - music from 4:00pm-6:00pm

A wonderful market last week with plenty of produce. This is the most exciting time of the market when more produce is available. We even had just-picked raspberries that were delicious!

During the month we have been celebrating NM Fresh Local Month by having a market volunteer walk around the market and randomly picking people to receive a $5.00 market coupon to use with any of our vendors. This Friday will be the last day, so don't be surprised if someone comes up and gives you a coupon to use with any of our vendors.

I won't be at the market this week as I will be participating in the Zozobra festivities! I am honored to share the news with you that Bienvenidos Outreach was one of the Kiwanis Foundation's 2025 grant recipients and we were invited to receive our check at the festivities and tell the crowd a little bit about our mission. Thank you, Kiwanis Foundation, for believing in our children's food program. Your support will allow us to purchase more fresh, local foods for the kids. Alice will be managing the market this week if you need to speak with her.

Last week's winner of the Raffle was Tina Jones (picture unavailable). Tina received a bee's wax candle from AB Honey, green chile from Cedar Grove Nursery, cranberry pecan bread from Cloud Cliff Bakery, 2 quiches from Crepas-Oh!, a lemon ginger scone & blueberry muffin from Drift & Porter, turnips from Evelyn's Farm (Carlos was the vendor winner of a free day at the market!), a vegetable tamale from Garcia's Bakery, calabacitas from El Guique Farm, okra & potatoes from Hernandez Farm, mulch & fertilizer from John Tyson, 1/2 dozen eggs from Mesa Top Farms, carrots, eggplant & cucumbers from Orozco Farm, a farmers' market tote bag from oSEWnice, scones from Santa Fe Sconery, lemon cucumbers from Tomato Tomahto, squash from Toni's Farm, 2 jars of jam from Tripleheart Farm, sunflower & pea microgreens from Twin Peaks Microgreens, a placement from WAREE, a pendant from Yuriy Luzov, and patty pan squash from Zamora's. Reminders and Requests
Want to check if a vendor is in attendance? Did you lose something at the market? Have a question for the market staff?

You can always call us at 505-479-0621 between 2:00pm and 6:30pm on market days and get your questions answered. This phone number is active on market days only and will be available until 6:30 pm. (market closes at 6:00pm) After 6:30pm, any messages left will be returned on Monday.

The market is a drop off point for clothing, dry goods, pet food and small household goods. Receipts for your donations are gladly given. Drop offs can be left at the Bienvenidos Outreach table.

Can you spare an hour of your time and volunteer at the market? We are looking for a few more people to help us this season as two of our volunteers will not be able to attend all of the markets. If interested, please speak to Alice or Susan at the Bienvenidos Outreach/SNAP table.

See you at the market!
SNAP tokens and Double Up Food Bucks are accepted at our market. Look for the sign below that will be on display at participating vendors' stalls. Purchase tokens at the Bienvenidos Outreach information and welcome table located at the first entrance of the market.

We also participate in the NM WIC & Seniors Farners Market Nutrition Program.

Don't forget to participate in the raffle!

Good Luck!!!!
