Gordon's Produce

Our farm has been in the family since 1928 when my grandparents bought the property. We have owned the property since 1978.

We grow produce Chemical Free and sell it at our farm stand. We also start veggie plants every Spring. Gordon’s Produce is a small farm located just outside Sault Ste Marie in the community of Gardenville (Soo Township). We grow both vegetables and plant starts using organic practices. We will have plants and fresh produce at the stand, with a self pay box on the honor system for cash or checks. We also accept the various Market Fresh Coupons.

We have 4 Rhubarb plants in buckets for sale, $15 ea. These are from a neighbor and are a Strawberry Rhubarb variety that has been grown in this neighborhood for generations. I am going to put a bag of Dairy Doo Compost with each plant, mix it with your soil around and under the plat.

To plant the Rhubarb roots, choose a sunny spot with rich, well-draining soil. Dig a hole wider than the roots and the dirt from the pail, place it with the crown with the buds facing up level with the surface, fill in with amended soil (Mix in plenty of compost or aged manure) and ensure the soil drains well so roots do not rot water well.

Pick a location with full sun to partial shade. Space plants 3 feet apart as they grow large.

The Farmstand is also stocked with produce, stop by any time.
