Have you ever walked in to a room and forgot why you are there? Need to go back out just to come back in to see if you can remember why? Midge is certainly having one of those moments and little Trixie is not very helpful. Sometimes it seems as if these moments become more frequent as we get older along with remembering words, events, people, etc. Some would say it’s just a part of the aging process. Midge and I just don’t want to just give up to the inevitable though, and neither should you.
As we age, it is important to keep both our bodies and our minds active. Just as you exercise your body by going for a walk, gardening, and other physical activities, remember to exercise your brain. Read a book, work on puzzles, take up a hobby, or do something artistic. All of those will help keep your brain strong.
To help even more, there are many supplements that may help improve brain function. The Vitamin Lady likes to recommend NMN, not M&M’s, as studies have shown that it may slow the cognitive decline of Alzheimer’s disease by improving the life of the neurons in our brain, increasing energy metabolism within those cells, and acting as an antioxidant protecting the neurons from damage.
NMN may be found in minute quantities in avocado, broccoli, cabbage, edamame, and cucumbers but is primarily synthesized from vitamin B3. My favorite way to take NMN is just as a supplement. It is easily absorbed and synthesized into NAD+, the active form used in the body.
If you would like more information on NMN and how it may benefit you, please DM or Comment below and Savannah’s Vitamin Lady will respond.
