The grass is green, the calves are growing like weeds, and we’re thinking about setting up a calf photo area this weekend. (Let us know if you think you’d like to come 👇)

🌱 A beautiful grassy backdrop
🧺 A blanket for the lawn

Feel free to bring your own blanket, quilt, baby blanket, or special prop if you have a particular photo in mind!

Over the last couple of weeks we’ve noticed y’all have questions……..A LOT of questions(which we love ). We have tried to answer them all but we want to open the floor because maybe you might have questions too 🤔🧐

🐮Why is there a farm store sitting in the middle of nowhere open at 2 AM?
🐮Why do you name your cows?
🐮Why brown cows ?
🐮What forms of payment do you take in the store ?

Truth is, every farm does things a little different. We ain’t here to tell anybody else how to farm. We’re just gonna tell you how we do it here.

The produce is looking mighty fine this week. 🌱There’s something about summer 🥰

We’ve got fresh tomatoes, radishes, beets, broccoli, garlic, scallions, garlic scapes, and more all stocked up and waiting for a good home. The garlic is hanging up curing, the tomatoes are begging to become sandwiches, and the broccoli is so fresh it’s still wearing half the plant.

If you’ve been meaning to stop by, now’s a pretty good time. Come grab some fresh produce, visit the calves and lambs, and see what’s new around Hillbilly Heaven.

We just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by Hillbilly Heaven during the 59th annual Gas Up.

Over the two weekends, we welcomed more than 200 visitors through the store doors, and we figure at least twice that many stopped by the visitor pens to meet the calves, lambs, and the rest of our four-legged crew. More important than the numbers were the conversations, the laughter, the stories, and the new friendships that were made along the way. Some of our loyal customers got to experience the magic of Gas Up for the very first time simply by making Hillbilly Heaven part of their weekend adventure. Watching families explore the grounds, visit with the animals, and enjoy everything our community has to offer reminded us exactly why we do what we do. To everyone who shopped, visited, petted a calf, asked questions, shared a story, took a picture, or simply stopped to say hello—thank you. Your support means more than you know.

A special thank you goes out to the volunteers and organizers of Gas Up for keeping this wonderful tradition alive year after year. It’s an event that brings people together, and we’re honored to be a small part of it. From all of us at Hillbilly Heaven—including Clara Belle, Bull’s-eye, Jesse James, Shepard, Winston, Bandit, Scout, Skeeter, Sonny, the lambs, and the rest of the barnyard crew—thank you for making these past two weekends so special.

P.S. The hillbillies are tired, the animals are spoiled from all the attention, and we’re pretty sure a few calves now expect visitors every day.

A big thank you to Barbecue Delights Catering and Tent Rentals for dropping off a box of leftover rolls from Gas Up!

Today, Bull’s-Eye, Jesse James, and Shepard got to enjoy a little bit of left overs. Nothing fancy—just a few happy boys, full bellies, and another reminder that good neighbors make farm life even sweeter.

PS: The boys would like everyone to know they are willing to accept payment in rolls, cookies, and other approved snack snacks. Their management team has not yet reviewed this policy.

After repeated warnings, cameras going insane , suspicious behavior, and an unauthorized inspection of store inventory, Ziggy has officially been grounded.

His offenses include:
* Loitering in the farm store
* Sniffing merchandise without intent to purchase
* Ignoring personal space boundaries (we’re sorry)
* Looking innocent while clearly planning something -GUILTY !!!

Punishment includes:
*No unsupervised shopping trips
* Extra cuddles (whether he likes it or not)
* Mandatory participation in “How To Be a Good Lamb” classes

As you can see from the evidence, Ziggy is currently serving his sentence and contemplating his life choices.

Those tomato plants already have flowers, and some even have baby tomatoes growing! We tucked them into some good ol’ cow manure compost, so if you’re running behind, don’t panic. They’re already fertilized and ready when you are.

We had to run a little errand, but we’ll be back after 5 PM to run any SNAP purchases through.
