I began Promise Pretzels of Maine after friends and family encouraged me to begin selling the candy covered rods I made for my high school graduation reception! After a period of "product

testing" I officially was licensed as a business April 16th! I sell locally in farmer's markets, craft fairs and retail shops. I also sell online through my Etsy shop and website. You can link directly to my Etsy shop by clicking on the buy now icon! You can securely with your credit card and the order will be shipped within 2 business days! If you would like a different combination/amount than you see contact me and I will set up a special order for you! We also can personalize items or send a note along with gift items! We not only have pretzel pops but specialty items such as homemade peanut brittle, candy covered cookies and for our local market soft pretzels! If you live locally and would like to order something you can do so on our Etsy store (use coupon code LO2014) to avoid shipping charges added to it! You also can call 207-538-6729 with any questions or to place an order! We aim to please! Our shipping policy is that if the actual shipping charges are less we refund you the difference, if it is more we cover it! If an item arrives and is not to your satisfaction we will refund or send you a new one! I am looking forward to doing business with you!

Today as I celebrate my 5th year of my storefront Splendiferous Sweet Shoppe in Searsport Maine I am remembering all the wonderful folks in Houlton, Maine who encouraged me when I began Promise Pretzels of Maine way back in 2013. The Houlton Community Market was such a wonderful place to be on Saturday mornings as were the many craft shows and special events throughout the state. I was thankfull to learn much about starting a business from New Ventures Maine (which was then Women Work and Community), and Maine SBDC . I am especially grateful to my uncle Rogan who suggested I start a business and was a very early regular customer who cheered me on, my Mom and grandmother Lila Rogan for encouraging me along the way. I also am thankful to Mosoka P. Fallah for helping to realize how one person with a vision can impact change in the world around them. To those of you dreaming of starting your own business or wanting to change the course in life you are on I encourage you to take that step, be willing to ask for help, learn from your mistakes , and realize it takes time, lots of hard work and a sense of humor to see you through long, sometimes discouraging days!

For those who remember my early days of selling chocolate covered pretzels at the Farmers Markets and Craft Shows!

In 2013 when I began my business (Promise Pretzels at the time) I was in a Top Gun prep class with entrepreneurs from all over the state. Yesterday I visited with one of those entrepreneurs, Kate McAleer who is the founder of Bixby Chocolate in Rockland. It was exciting to see how we are both still pursuing our passions 10 year later.
