My passion is creating biodiversity within a low-maintenance edible landscape, which is often referred to as a "Food Forest". Food Forests, or what I like to call "Forest Gardens", establish food security close to your home or office. Forest Gardening is a low-maintenance, sustainable, perennial plant-based food production system that mimics a woodland ecosystem and can be adapted to any residential or business landscape. Forest gardens incorporate fruit and nut trees, shrubs, herbs, vines, and perennial vegetables that produce yields directly available to your family. These ecosystems create a thriving addition to your existing landscape or garden.
You are probably wondering how I discovered my Forest Gardening passion. I have been growing gardens since I was a child and later fell in love with the interconnectedness of natural systems. I am a third generation gardener with knowledge and hands on experience gardening in Big Sur, California, The Sierra Nevada Mountains, and since 2014, Washington State. Throughout my life, I have gathered additional experiential knowledge managing farms and living in communities practicing Forest Garden techniques.
What my firm implements is not simply a Forest Garden, but a design that will provide your family with fresh, nutritious, Non-GMO food producing perennial plants within the grounds of your home or office. I do free site surveys and will provide you with, not only a firm estimate but, a vision of how your existing lawn can become a bountiful path of wonderful foods to be harvested perennially or annually, depending on your choices. I will implement and encourage those species that will thrive in your regional climate.
If any of this sounds appealing and delicious, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to meeting with you personally and discussing your needs!
