Magnolia flowers are one of those fleeting spring gifts that feel almost magical. Soft, floral, slightly gingery, and deeply rooted in Southern tradition.

I’m mostly experimenting, so I won’t have this for sale this year. But I had to share.

This season I’ve been fermenting magnolia petals and letting time work its slow medicine. Fermentation transforms the flowers into something bright, tangy, complex, and alive with beneficial bacteria.

The flavor is hard to describe unless you’ve tasted it yourself. A little floral. A little citrusy. A little wild.

For generations, magnolia has been used in folk traditions for calming the nervous system, supporting digestion, and connecting us more deeply to the land around us.

I love finding ways to preserve these seasonal plants so their gifts can be enjoyed long after the blooms have fallen. And I wanna help you learn how too.
