Hey everyone, it's beef buying time again! The average price for hamburger is the highest it's ever been (over $5/lb in stores for quality stuff), and that's not even considering how much steak costs.
If you're interested in buying local grass fed/grain finished beef, with better quality & taste, and for a cheaper price than anywhere you can find in the stores, you're in luck. My dad raises cattle in Seneca, KS, and he is fattening out 5 of them this year.
The cost will be around $8/lb of take home meat (exact cost will depend on how you choose to get it processed) - this will include various cuts of steak, ribs, roast, brisket, and hamburger. The minimum order is a quarter share of a beef (take home, put in your freezer amount will be around 130 lbs of meat), so the cost of your quarter would be around $1040 (130lbs x $8/lb).
If 130 lbs of meat is too much, I'm willing to help pair up people who want 1/8 of a share.
The meat will be ready around the beginning of February (so you have plenty of time to empty out your freezer), and pickup will be from my house in Prairie Village. For questions or orders, please call my mom Marian at 785-336-3595 (leave message if no answer) or message me on this account. The DEADLINE for orders is October 1.
