WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT AT HOCHSTETLER’S
Chapter #2
The door of the deli case opened a crack and Brewster Buffalo Chicken poked his head out carefully to make sure Blake and the Merry Maids were gone and the lights were out. He was “ON” tonight for the media post and wanted to get his “deli special” cohorts together and see if they liked his recipe. All was clear! Brewster jumped out of the deli case and stood in the middle of the floor and yelled for his friends: Sonja Swiss Cheese, Gulliver Green Onion Cheese and Henry Honey Roast Turkey. “Hey Y’all! Get out here. Everyone is gone and the coast is clear!” Sonja, Gulliver and Henry (along with a few others we won’t mention) jumped gleefully out of the deli case. “YAY! FREEDOM!” they yelled with glee. Brewster said, “now pay attention to my recipe and tell me if you like it! I have to have this turned in shortly.”

Ingredients
1 crusty roll or sub bun
6 to 8 ounces sliced buffalo chicken deli meat
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon buffalo wing sauce
2 slices cheddar or provolone cheese
Fresh lettuce and sliced tomatoes

Instructions
Toast the Bread: Slice your roll in half and toast it lightly in a toaster oven or skillet until warm and golden.
Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise and buffalo wing sauce.
Assemble: Spread the spicy mayo mixture on both the top and bottom halves of the roll.
Layer: Place the cheese on the bottom half, then fold and pile on the sliced buffalo chicken deli meat. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, and celery or banana peppers if desired.
Finish: Put the top bun on, cut the sandwich in half, and serve immediately.

“That sounds DELICIOUS” yelled Henry Honey Turkey. Man! I am so hungry I could eat a cow!” He looked at Randy Roast Beef out of the corner of his eye hungrily. Randy glared back at him and Henry lost a bit of his appetite. “Thanks guys!” said Brewster. “I am glad we are all on sale together!” Sonja Swiss Cheese, Henry Honey Turkey and Gulliver Green Cheese all nodded in agreement. They started to sing a little tune together with Cody Cayenne playing his little guitar in the background. It was going to be a fun night!

Just a few random updates at the new location! Ceiling grid is up. Hood is installed in kitchen. Flooring is delivered. Offices are enclosed. (that's not really Mark's office 😜😂). Outside posts are being wrapped in stained lumber. We're gettin' closer! "Hitherto hath the Lord helped us"!

I would like to clarify yesterday's post of "just a walk through". This was NOT our new location. We are still in our current location. Apologies for any confusion. We have a lot of new Facebook "followers" and the intention was just a quick walk through of our current location. We do NOT have a date for the new location yet but it is getting closer! :) All updates will be shared so stay tuned! :)

Also - we have started a new Wednesday post called "When The Lights Go Out At Hochstetler's"....Short stories of products and what they "do" after we leave haha. :) Join us with your imagination for some smiles and of course something about a product or recipe or....who knows what! This past Wednesday was Ch. #1 - if you missed it you may want to catch up. ;)

Reminder: We will be closed on Monday, September 7th for Labor Day. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th.

WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT AT HOCHSTETLERS COUNTRY STORE
Chapter 1

As the doors of Hochstetler’s closed and the lights went out Cody Cayenne Pepper gave a snort of frustration which sent out a puff of red pepper dust. Belinda Bilberry looked at him with one eyebrow up… “What is your problem Cody? You have been more than unusually peppery today.” Cody replied, I just thought they would never close. “You know how Wednesday’s are. The truck comes and there is so much hurry and scurry and then Blake and the Merry Maids have to clean up and I have a gig tonight and I’m late! While Cody was speaking he was pulling on his cowboy boots and strapping on his little guitar. Belinda rolled her eyes. "You and your Wednesday night parties. It’s a wonder you are able to get back on the shelf in time for opening the next morning.” Cody Cayenne gave another snort and sent more red peppery dust all over the front of Belinda’s dress. “Cody stop it! I have a social media post tonight and I have to look my best.” Cody said, “I can’t imagine what you are so good for that you are going on social media but best of luck to you.” With that he slapped on his little cowboy hat, jumped down off the shelf and ran into the dim light of the store – no one knows for sure where his gigs are but maybe…under the deli case. Belinda rolled her eyes again and said to herself, “well I AM good for a lot of things and he will find out when he reads the post!”
