Another successful Shop Kansas Farms Market of Farms today in Lawrence. Glad to have Jolie with me - we have fun and it makes the day go fast and easy! One of my greatest joys is listening to the kids talk to customers about what we do and educating people on beef. I was only needed when there was multiple people at our booth or Jolie told me to go get more cuts out of the trailer. We hope all the new customers enjoy the beef they picked up today. We can’t say it enough but thanks to Rick, Kylee, and Megan for all they do to promote and connect Kansas farmers and ranchers!

Congratulations to Dusty Gormley who won our contest with a guess on average live weight of 1,610 pounds on the 4 steers. They averaged 1,630 pounds. Thanks to all who participated!

We finally had our first calf of the 2026 spring calving season. We are about 10 days late, and we’ve been “patiently” waiting, but appears they will be coming fast now. This little black bull calf is out of our 6 year old #2002 cow. She’s 1/2 Charolais and 1/2 Red Angus and was bred to a NVCC black Angus bull. We kept #2002, along with many of her 1/2 sisters, for replacements heifers out of a group of Red Angus cows we purchased that were bred to a Fink Charolais bull.
