Don's Produce A memorial to the smartest gardener I had the privilege to call “Dad.” ♥️ Don is retired but has farmed and grown produce his whole life.

Raising a family of 4 he and his wife Barbera relied heavily on large gardens to not only feed their family but to earn extra money for that family as well. Together they helped start the Salem Farmers Market and while he sold there she sold at the Blacksburg Farmers Market. Once the kids were old enough to drive they took over and sold during the week day markets. Today at 76, he still has a gard

en but relies heavily on his friends that he has cultivated through these markets that still farm and sell. It keeps him busy and involved in the community. During the 2020 Pandemic Don played a critical role in keeping the community safe. By offering his/friends produce many people, including many elderly, were able to shop safely without going into grocery stores. Way to go Daddy, we are so proud of you!!
