Today is one of those days that reminds us our work family is so much more than just staff.

Our hearts are grieving today as we should be celebrating. Today marks Teddy’s 2nd birthday—his first Heavenly Birthday. 🧸💚

We ask that you keep Brooke, Teddy’s family, and all who loved him in your prayers as we navigate a day filled with both love and loss. 💚

🎬 BIG NEWS FROM KOWALONEK’S! 🎬

We’re incredibly honored and excited to share that a short film about our shop has been nominated for Best Documentary at the 2026 Pottsville Film Festival! ❤️

After 115 years of family tradition, hard work, smokehouse mornings, and amazing community support, it means so much to see our story recognized and celebrated on the big screen.

Join us this Saturday, May 30th from 2PM–4PM for the festival and help celebrate local storytelling, local history, and small businesses that keep our communities strong.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us through the years — this recognition belongs to all of you too!

*** Just a quick note for everyone asking — this film was actually filmed last year by students from Florida State University. We’re incredibly honored and excited to have this piece featured at this time!

We truly loved sharing our business, our family, our community, and our culture with these students throughout the filming process, and it means so much to see their work being recognized.

While we’d absolutely love to share the full film across our social media pages, we do not hold the ownership rights to the project, so we’re unable to publicly post it ourselves. We’re grateful to have been a part of it and can’t wait for everyone attending the festival to experience it!
