We’ve had quite a few new people find our page lately, so we just wanted to say welcome! 👋

San Luis Food Market & Taqueria has been serving the community for over 60 years. We’re a small family-owned store with fresh meats, Mexican groceries, produce, tortillas, and our taqueria in the back. 🌮

Whether you’ve been coming here for years or just discovered us, stop in and say hi.

Big thanks to Hola America News for coming by and sitting down with my mom and me to talk a little about San Luis Food Market and how it all started.

It’s pretty crazy to think this little store has been around for over 60 years. A lot has changed over the years, but one thing hasn’t... we’re still here because of the support of our family, friends, customers, and this community.

Más de 2,000 de nuestros vecinos enfrentan ahora un cambio inesperado en sus empleos y en la estabilidad de sus familias. Sabemos que entre las personas afectadas hay clientes, amigos y vecinos de nuestra comunidad.

San Luis Food Market ha formado parte de esta comunidad por más de 45 años, y durante ese tiempo hemos visto momentos buenos y también momentos difíciles. Algo que siempre ha permanecido es la manera en que nuestra comunidad se apoya cuando más se necesita.

Today’s announcement that the Tyson Foods plant in Joslin is closing is difficult news for our entire Quad Cities community.

More than 2,000 of our neighbors are facing an unexpected change in their lives and livelihoods. We know that some of the families affected are our customers, friends and neighbors.

San Luis Food Market has been part of this community for more than 45 years, and during that time we have seen the Quad Cities go through good times and difficult ones. One thing that has always remained the same is how this community looks out for one another.

To everyone affected by today’s announcement, we are thinking of you and your families and wishing you strength as you determine what comes next.
