Among our many engagements, we are working toward establishing a nonprofit, certified commercial kitchen in the Slippery Rock area whe
re local producers, chefs, and restaurateurs can come to prepare and process foods for small scale distribution. Being situated in the rural acres of Western Pennsylvania, and incorporated with an accredited university of over 7,000 students, the Slippery Rock region offers a unique blend of agricultural reliance and forward-thinking youths, along with close, convenient ties to both Pittsburgh and Erie, PA. By encouraging agrobusiness, sustainable entrepreneurism, and consumption of locally grown foods, our commercial kitchen will act as a facet of rural development and a spring of opportunity. Moneys donated to this cause will be used as a nest egg toward the development of the Commercial Kitchen. While there has been a show of local support, our needs are vast - we still need a physical location, equipment, and other tangible property to get started.
