We have had several customers asking about our beef in light of the announcement made regarding imported foreign beef.
We would like to assure all of you, our suppliers remain the same. Though it is not local beef, it is all a USDA beef. We are lucky to have several different supplier options- giving us the freedom to remain picky of brand and quality. We appreciate your trust and continued business 🔪🥩🐄🐮

July 3rd… Our busiest day of the year.

Soon you’ll find us behind the counter smiling confidently while internally calculating whether we have enough hamburger to survive the next 8 hours.

We’ll be putting our love, sweat, and possibly a dramatic amount of tears into every steak, rack of ribs, and pound of hamburger for your Independence Day cookout.

Come see us. Come early. Bring patience.
And if the line reaches the door… just know we probably saw it too and had the exact same reaction you did. 🇺🇸😂
And remember, you can call in advance to make sure we get your order cut first thing in the morning so you can avoid that… Ah-hah moment 😂

In case anyone hasn’t stepped outside lately- summer is here! ☀️ and with this weather, it’s the most wonderful time of year for fresh vegetables- especially those Slocomb tomatoes 🍅 we all wait 10 months a year for! All of us at Johnston’s Grocery and Market want to extend our deepest gratitude to all of you who have waited in long lines, called your orders in , or just came to browse as business has picked up. We have been incredibly blessed with customers who still greet us with a smile 😃 after long wait times and for that we are forever grateful!
All of that being said- please keep in mind this weekend will be the and weekend, feel free to call ahead to place your orders to not only avoid the wait but also ensure we have what you need to make your Father’s Day an amazing one!

The Johnston family wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to the Bass and Carrol family as well as the congregation of Malvern Baptist Church as they mourn the loss of Mrs. Debbie Bass. As early newlywed neighbors so many years ago and cousins, our family can attest to the great loss of light in the world as Debbie passes into eternal glory. A sweet soul who was devoted to her family and church, the entire Malvern community it seems is somehow affected by this. Where we find great sorrow, we also find a life well-lived. Our thoughts, prayers, and love are with you during this time.
Updated to add: Though shocking, we will not comment on the cause of death due to our own uncertainty and at the respect of the family’s privacy. Thank you all so much for your kind words, prayers, thoughts, and comments.
