We have been growing produce on our 7-acre farm in Smoot, Wyoming, since 2001. **As of 2019, EverGreen Farm is no longer in operation as a "Farm", just doing a little gardening now.

To our former CSA Workshares - Karen at Haderlie Farms in Thayne is seeking referrals for people who might be interested in being a Workshare this coming season. Please contact her ASAP! I don't know any of the details except that a farmer always needs help and you may like the "work for food" arrangement she has to offer.

So far, I've managed to keep most of our plants alive through these very cold nights. I have double and triple row covers on all remaining plants that are all inside greenhouses. A heater in with the tomatoes. I check 4 forecasts every day. For tonight I'm seeing - 19, 20, 21, or 24. That's a tough pill to swallow. But I will cover again and close things up early (keep in some heat) and keep hoping for the best. Meanwhile, I'll console myself with another fresh tomato sandwich.

Wednesday morning progress. I have a helper who comes one morning a week to w**d in trade for produce. Today we finished w**ding 3,000 square feet of greenhouse space. Whew. AND we spread leaf mulch. It looks so good!

Our GARLIC has cured (dried in the shed) and is ready for the next step of the harvest process - chopping and cleaning. We have plenty to share and sell but I can't do it all myself. I'm looking for helpers who can come do this work with me in trade ("paid" with garlic!). I will start on Friday and go through the weekend until it's all done. Even an hour or two helps.

Our GARLIC is ready to dig! We only have 6 rows, but this is more than Shain and I can dig on our own. Seeking volunteers who can help us harvest our garlic crop on Saturday morning, 9 am (and possibly carrying over to Monday). We will TRADE your time for beautiful garlic! We especially need some stronger men (more body mass) to do the digging. Let me know. *Photo is last year's finished garlic crop.

2 days ago - we had a fire! Yeah, it was a rough day, but we got through. Yesterday was another scorcher (91 outside, and who knows how hot in the greenhouse. 110? 120? Even with fans on.) Our farm and home smelled like a campfire gone wrong. And we were still walking around the burn area looking for smoldering spots that might reignite in the heat. Yeah, another long day. THEN CAME THE RAINS! What a relief! So a simple hour in the greenhouse this morning, pulling w**ds and bolting produce, while a slight rain makes beautiful music on the plastic overhead. Whew - feeling very grateful again today.

Last call for GARLIC SCAPES! With this heat, they will be "done" in less than a week. Selling at a discount $1/dozen. Pick up in Smoot. Cash. Great garlic flavor! We are making garlic scape pesto in bulk and freezing to enjoy year-round.

Not officially farming anymore, but still growing beautiful produce. Extras are available for purchase: kale, chard, Chinese cabbage, garlic scapes, mustard greens, and 4 varieties of head lettuce (red frilly, green frilly, speckled romaine, and butter bib).

People have been asking if we will have any extra produce to purchase this year. (Not operating our farm as we did for 15 years, but we are growing a big garden.) Yes, I have extras! Right now, I have 4 varieties of head lettuces, Chinese cabbage, garlic scapes, kale, chard. All are cut and washed on demand, so contact me in advance.
