Homemade crackling and lard. Rendered my first batch of pork fat today. The two jars of lard are cooling. I'll post the cooled pictures later, should be pure white. Butchered on Saturday. What a lot of work. Had to freeze the fat so it was easier to cut up.

Here's a picture of all the calves. March and Barnibus are four months old, April and May are three months old, and Fox is two and a half months old. They are all weaned and doing will. March, April and May are all black Angus/Holstein cross heifers, Barnibus is a black Angus/brown Swiss cross steer and Fox is a short horn?/Holstein cross bull calf, but we plan on banding him also. I hope to turn the heifers into milk cows/nurse cows. The boys are for the freezer.

Finally got all the gardens planted!

Not all battles are won. Last night we lost one of it new calves. He was two weeks old. We had been treating him for "shipping fever" really thought he was going to make it.

New babies, two weeks old today. Mom is a registered boar, dad is 3/4 boar.
