Mountain Freshies will start running weekly wholesale on June 17 & 18 and as we head into our season we face many unknowns.
What will happen with the cost of diesel?🚚
How many Colorado grown apples and pears will have survived the freeze?🍎🍏🍐We will have some, but we plan to supplement by working with small, like-minded farms from out of state. (we will have plenty of early season Colorado grown cherries🍒, apricots and peaches🍑 as well as our usual berries and melons🍉🍈 etc)
How long will the water last to irrigate the crops?💦
Will our non-profit partners receive any grant money to spend with our local farms?💸
Working in agriculture is never predictable so you learn to go with the flow and hope for the best, but this season feels even more unpredictable than usual.🤷♀️
What can you do to help? Please spread the word📞in all the markets we service (see route on our website for a complete list)…and we are opening more stops in Denver and many of the surrounding communities from Boulder to Greeley this season!
Please support the farmers markets👩🌾, shops and buying groups in your communities that buy from Mountain Freshies: including Mountain Naturals in Woodland Park, Mountain Mama and Hunt or Gather in Colorado Springs, Backyard Farmers Market in Black Forest, Taste of Life in Monument, All the Good Stuff in Edwards, Mountain Market in Eagle.
Please make heart based decisions❣️ because when you support your heart, you support many souls, and you help to keep Mountain Freshies running for years to come!
