Meet Our Board Member: Loretta Taylor
A lifelong resident of San Antonio, NM, Loretta Taylor is the proud mother of three children and five grandchildren, whom she shares with her husband, Jessy. She currently operates an Airbnb called Jim’s Dream out of her childhood home. Before that, much of Loretta’s career was spent in retail — many community members may remember her from Smith’s Grocery Store.
Loretta began vending at the Farmers Market more than 10 years ago, starting out by selling apples. Today, her booth features fresh farm eggs, seasonal vegetables and fruit, homemade jams, and baked goods. Over the years, she has also stepped into several important leadership roles, serving as Treasurer, Market Manager, and Board Member. Over the past five years, her dedication and hard work have helped grow the market into what it is today.
When she’s not busy at the market, Loretta spends her time caring for her two Great Pyrenees, Blanco and Pastelita, their puppies (who will soon need loving homes), and her flock of nearly 100 chickens. She also tends to her beautiful desert oasis filled with trees, flowers, bushes, and vegetables.
Thank you, Loretta, for your many years of dedication to the Farmers Market and for the care you continue to give our community. We are truly blessed to have you!

It’s not the Easter bunny, it’s this little cuties’ pet bunny! She told me it’s name is “Bunny Bunny”🐰 The community is so wonderful at the Socorro Farmers Market 🫶🏼 such an adorable moment caught here.
