Tutto Rosso! Our latest newsletter is out, with a front page focus on Italian reds. These Italian red grapes flourish predominantly in their respective regions. Nerello Mascalese, Grignolino, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Montepulciano… these are just 6 of the hundreds of grape varieties native to Italy. We think there is something for everybody at our wine tasting this week! As usual, we’ll be sharing four wines from 5-7pm on Wednesday (the 18th). This week our special guest is Todd from Carolina wines, and he’ll be pouring four disparate, delicious wines from Europe: a sparkling Riesling from Germany, a Petit Chablis from France, a chillable low-intervention red from Umbria, Italy, and a rich and savory red from the Languedoc in France. Feel free to stop by any time between 5 and 7 on Wednesday for a free taste!

Thanks to Bee and Michelle of for the recent visit, fresh off their appearance at Femme Fête! We enjoyed hearing their story and about their love for Pinot Gris 🤩 We currently carry their Temperance Hill Vineyard Pinot Gris, Where Ya PJs At (they call it rosé-ish; 80% skin-contact Pinot Gris & 20% Riesling), and Wax On Wax Soif Red (Grenache, Syrah, Viognier). If you need a new fun fave yet still seriously good domestic wine, give these a shot.

New flavored chocolates have arrived from and boy are we excited! Made in Ecuador with the heirloom Ancient Nacional cacao variety these are simply exceptional. It’s not an exaggeration to say that their Vintage Rain Harvest series made us reframe how we think about chocolate as a fine agricultural product. Since we are mostly preoccupied with the worlds of wine, whiskey, and cheese it can be easy to forget that so many other goods are worthy of the same respect and appreciation for terroir (which references not only the climate and physical environment but also the peoples and cultures that produce them). We also feel strongly that when made with as much care and commitment to conservation and preservation as these then the price is more than justified.

This week’s tasting lineup is looking really good… ☀️ Join us from 5-7pm this Wednesday as we host Jackson from who will be sharing this lovely lineup of whites from Tuscany and the Southern Rhône, and reds from Oregon (Gamay!) and the Douro. Jackson will share a little info about each of these small-production wines, and we will discount them 10% during the tasting!

We’re still riding high after attending last weekend’s Femme Fête! Huge thanks to Haley of and for conceiving of and organizing this amazing event. (If you haven’t been to either excellent wine bar in Boston definitely check them out!). It was wonderful to celebrate the many incredible women winemakers in our industry, meet the makers behind some of our favorite wines, be reminded of how great our Boston wine community is, and also to recognize the many people involved in bringing us the great wine we sell to you, both locally and around the world.

This is only a few of the producers represented which we currently carry (or have in the past). Apologies to those that we missed and didn’t manage to get pictures of, including .ge and probably more!

Here’s our lineup for this week’s wine tasting! Join us as we welcome Dennis from from 5-7pm on Wednesday. He’ll be sharing some amazing French wines: two elegant and minerally whites from the Loire Valley and two robust and characterful reds from the Southern Rhône and Provence. These four will be 10% off during the tasting, but no purchase is necessary, it’s free to taste!

Next Tuesday, March 3rd our friends are hosting an exciting guest for their weekly wine dinner! Claire Jarreau, winemaker at in the Willamette Valley, will be there in person sharing 3 wines: an Alsatian white blend and 2 Pinot Noirs. Brooks was the first certified biodynamic winery in the Willamette and makes gorgeous wines with lots of character. Claire will be pouring her wines alongside a special menu and sharing her insights and wisdom tableside. There is a link in our bio to Forage’s reservation page, just be sure to scroll down to the “Experiences” section to book a seating for the “Meet the Maker: Wine Dinner with Claire Jarreau.” Thanks to for helping set it up and including us as a retail partner!

*As with everything in life, there are a few exceptions. Sparkling wines, fortified wines (Port, Sherry, Vermouth etc), and the four Wines of the Month can be included in a mixed case but only get a 10% discount. Blue tag sale wines are excluded from any further discounts, but can contribute towards a case for the discount on other eligible items. Discounts only apply to 750ml and 375ml bottles, larger sizes are excluded.
