I absolutely love being able to produce healthy and clean food from home. Right now I'm on a cream cheese kick; it literally has 3 ingredients (raw goat milk, vinegar or lemon juice, and a dash of salt). I love baking from scratch and making breakfast sandwiches with our free range eggs. I'm digging having a community that helps me with my Kombucha and makes sure I have foraged medicinal herbs at my fingertips. I have rediscovered making my own laundry soap and am learning the process of making my own goat milk soap. There are a thousand little things that make my lifestyle work for me.
However, with all that being said I think it is equally important to remember that we are human and can only do what we can do. I still have a microwave, I still make hotdogs on nights when I'm just too busy, I don't buy organic tea, I still add Tide to my homemade laundry soap (this is strictly to make my husband happy), and I still have a weakness for sugary cereals for dessert (might I recommend an equal mix of Fruity Hoops and Lucky Charms😉).
All this to say, I AM healthier than I was 5 years ago, but I still have my comfort foods. Every journey looks different and everyone has different goals. I am doing what I can at this moment and that is OK. Slow is ok. Forward is forward no matter how fast you move, so keep moving.
