🎬 HERE COME THE BLOOPERS 🎬

Well, folks — the boxes are packed away, the scale is finally clean, and we’ve officially taken our first week off since this whole blueberry adventure started. Naturally, we spent part of it doing the responsible thing: scrolling through months of security footage.

We were technically looking for bears. What we found was so much better.

So consider this the start of our “Here Come the Bloopers” series — the outtakes, the 2am raccoon dance parties, the deer who clearly thought the farm stand was a self-serve buffet (rude), and a few humans (hi, it’s us) doing things we will absolutely not be explaining further.

First installment coming your way this week. Grab your popcorn — and maybe don’t judge us too hard. 🍿🫐

Season one is in the books. It ate us alive in places (looking at you, Nelson field), but we wouldn’t trade it. Thanks for a wild first year, South Haven. 💙

Well, folks — we’ve got a plot twist nobody saw coming. Our U-Pick Preview Weekend (Aug 15–16) is officially canceled, and yes, it’s actually because we ran out of blueberries — just not in the way you’d think. Turns out we’ve got some VIP guests of the four-legged, fully-protected-by-law variety who heard the rumors about how good our berries are, and decided to see for themselves. Word travels fast, apparently — even in the woods. They beat you all to the punch and cleaned out the Nelson field themselves.

Given the protection laws around these particular critters, the safest move for them and for you is keeping the field closed for a bit. Nobody needs a surprise encounter while reaching for a handful of blueberries — especially when the blueberries are already gone.

Don’t worry — this is a “see you next season” NOT a “see you never.” We’re already dreaming up an even better u-pick experience for next year. Keep an eye on our page, we will be sharing all of the preparations for all of the new things coming! 💛

🫐 STEP RIGHT UP! LAST HARTLAND FARMERS MARKET — TOMORROW! 🫐

Ladies, gentlemen, and blueberry enthusiasts of all ages — tomorrow (Saturday, 9am–1pm) marks the FINAL, GRAND, one-night-only… okay, four-hour-only performance of Yellow House Farm at the Hartland Farmers Market this season!

Come one, come all, before we pack up the big top (a folding table and a tent, but still) for the year!

But wipe those tears, friends — the show’s not over.

We’re closing out the season with our biggest act yet: the End of Season U-Pick Weekend, August 15th & 16th ONLY.

🫐 $2.50/lb u-pick blueberries — no ticket required, just a bucket and an appetite

‼️Here’s everything you need to know for U-Pick Weekend, 8/15 & 8/16! 🫐

🕘 Hours: 9am to 6pm

💵 Pricing: $2.50/lb — cash, card or Venmo

🪣 Bring: Your own container if you’d like, or grab one of ours for an additional $2.00

👟 Wear: Closed-toe shoes, sun protection, and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dusty

🐝 Note: We share the field with pollinators — please leave them be!

🚗 Parking: Located at the end of the drive in the marked off area

🚶🏼🚶🏻‍♀️ U-Pick Zone: A clear pathway to the picking field has been marked and is a short 3 minute walk from the parking area (I timed it twice 😉)

Rain or shine, the rows will be ready. See you out there!

🍯 A LITTLE HONEY EDUCATION 🍯
Did you know not all honey tastes the same? Just like w**e or coffee, honey’s flavor depends on what the bees were foraging on — and here at Yellow House Farm, we’re lucky to source some incredible varieties right from Van Buren County.
Here’s what we’ve got on hand:
🌼 WILDFLOWER — A little bit of everything blooming nearby. Bold, complex, and never quite the same jar twice.
🌿 CLOVER — Mild, sweet, and classic. The honey most people picture when they think “honey.” Great for everyday use.
🌳 LINDEN — Light and floral with a cool, almost minty finish. A local favorite that’s hard to find outside our area.
🍊 ORANGE BLOSSOM — Bright, citrusy, and fragrant. Tastes like sunshine in a jar.
🌾 BUCKWHEAT — Dark, rich, and bold with almost a molasses-like depth. Not for the faint of heart — the honey lovers’ honey.
…and a few more rotating varieties depending on the season and what the bees decide to bring us!
Each variety has its own personality, and we love being able to offer this kind of variety straight from our little corner of Michigan. 🐝
