Have you met Martina? We spent some time getting to know her so you could too! See her full interview below:
What do you sell at the market?
Baked goods inspired by the Italian tradition
Are there any other products/services that you offer outside of the market? If so, what are they?
I offer at-home cooking classes, 100% tailored to the clients’ needs and interests.
Which product/service are you most excited about right now and why?
My tiramisu, because now that it’s getting toastier a cold homemade tiramisu is the best dessert ever!
What is your most popular item?
Croissants!
What do you wish more customers knew about you, your products, or your business?
Every product is the result of a long study and dozens of trials. There’s a lot of care that goes into every detail: from the ingredients to the packaging.
Where did it all begin?
I’ve been baking my entire life, but my Flour Power adventure started in 2024 when I decided to start selling my products online. After great feedback from clients, a friend suggested I’d check out farmers markets. I started first at Barton Creek and then I kept adding more and more markets. And here we are almost 2 years later still baking and selling my beloved products.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The creative freedom to do whatever I want with my products.
What is most challenging about your work?
Being a home business with a high volume of products requires a lot of organization skill, planning and patience.
What are your dreams and goals for your business?
I’d like to open a small cafè
What do you like to do on your days off or when you’re not at the market?
Believe it or not, I love baking for myself too. As a vegan I love to experiment with traditional recipes, trying to find the perfect plant-based alternative. I also love sports and history. I’m a huge history buff and I love reading and studying ancient cultures.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to do what you do?
This job takes a lot of time and energy and at first it’s easy to give up, but be consistent and believe in yourself and your products, keep giving your 100% and you’ll see the results!
