Well, the guesses were so fun — everything from goats, lambs, kittens, to milk production and even human babies… but the official winner is !

Sweet Mercy Farm is excited to share that our new venture is….

📣 pug puppies 🐶

Back in October we confirmed Maisy and Bandit had successfully conceived. And on December 3rd, we welcomed our very first litter! Our hearts, and home, are very full. These sweet pups have brought so much joy to the farm, and we’re soaking up every moment of this new season ❤️

If you’ve ever been interested in having a pug or just want a sweet puppy addition to your home, we’d love to chat with you! More information to follow this week, but as long as things continue to go well, puppies should be ready to go home in the next couple weeks.

Good news, friends! Our new hens are laying again — which means farm-fresh, pasture-raised eggs are back at the stand! 🐓💛

With our family life getting busier by the season, things look a little different these days at the farm. Here’s the scoop on how to get your hands on some eggs 👇

🥚ABOUT OUR EGGS🥚
Our eggs are collected fresh daily and placed out unwashed — which keeps their natural protective coating intact and helps them stay fresh longer.
You can safely store them on your counter for up to 2 months (or 4 weeks to be extra cautious) and simply wash them right before use.

Our hens roam freely on pesticide-free pasture and enjoy a non-GMO, corn- and soy-free supplemental feed 🐔

🏡 HOW TO PURCHASE (Self-Serve Style)
🥚 Bring your own cartons to refill, or purchase a reusable SMF plastic carton here for $5 each.

🍳 Start with the trays stacked on the right-hand side — take eggs from the top tray first, then move down to the next when it’s empty.

🙌🏽 Please stack empty trays to the side on the counter.

‼️ If an egg cracks or is dropped, use the towel provided to clean it up as best you can, and text us at (509) 405-6449 so we can take care of the rest.

Because it heard there’d be a jam session and it didn’t want to glaze over the opportunity 🥁😆

That’s right, found out about the Bluegrass concert at the farm next week and decided to join! Not going to lie - the BEST gluten free donut and cookies I’ve ever had 🍩 🍪 😋

Proud wife right here 😍

That is my husband self extricating himself from a mayday drill. AND getting the fastest time in his academy doing it! He told me about this drill the day it happened, but it’s a whole other thing seeing actually happen. The tears were definitely flowing 🥹

This journey has been nothing short of challenging physically, mentally and spiritually. I have found myself on my knees more than ever 🙏🏽

He is finishing week 9 of the 16 week academy. Week 9 and 10 are what they call The Crucible. So if you think of it, please pray for Lucas today:

- for focus on all the little details
- that he demonstrates good skills in the drills and decision making to his training captains
- protection for his body as he is being pushed physically beyond anything he has ever done before
- that he has a great evaluation at the end of the day

Thank you for being patient! Juggling life with 3 boys and the farm keeps us busy. Many have inquired to see if we are farming still. The short answer is YES! The long answer? We’ve been keeping a little secret and things are going to look a little different this year.

First BIG news? Lucas got hired by the Spokane Valley Fire Department!👨🏼‍🚒 As of March he is in the Fire Academy and it has been a wild ride. All winter Lucas worked as an EMT for AMR until he started the Academy. This process has been physically and mentally challenging but Lucas is not only thriving, he is LOVING every minute of this new adventure! While we look forward to all this change brings for our family, it has us sorting through what it means for the farm. Even though Lucas will step away from farm duties at the moment, we still planted seeds in the hopes that we could find help. After much prayer, that help has arrived!

Welcome Sabrina and Majorie! Sabrina volunteered the last 2 seasons and been a huge blessing. Marjorie currently works for located at the farm and enjoys gardening. We are so excited to partner with these two hard working and lovely women ❤️

What will we be offering? We WILL be selling produce, however, we WILL NOT be offering our weekly Farm Box. All produce will be available for sale one day a week from the farm (day/time TBD) and we will be back at the Thursday Farmer’s Market at Perry from 3-7pm 🥬

Will we sell eggs?🥚Since we sold almost all our flock, we have decided to continue the break from eggs. While I know this will be a disappointment to many, we just can’t keep up with the workload that comes with all things chickens and eggs during this transition. This may change one day, but as of right now, we will only have eggs available when we have surplus from our own family chickens.

While I know that change is hard, we would really appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate all these changes ourselves. And whether or not you support our little family farm by continuing to buy fresh local produce, we ask that you pray for us as we continue to see where God takes us. That’s it for now folks. Thanksgiving week is here!! And you know what that means…

TURKEYS ARE READY! For those of you who pre-ordered turkeys, listen up!

Turkeys will be available for pick up tomorrow, Tuesday, November 21st starting at 10am. We will be handing them out based on your previously stated weight preference. As a reminder, each turkey is $7 per pound minus your $10 reservation fee. Once we have the turkeys back tonight we will work on sorting them and try to message everyone ahead of time with totals.

We will be able to accept cash or card (cash being preferable!). For those paying with card, there will be a 3% added on the total. We thank you for understanding! As always, we appreciate your patience between now and today as we have a ton of turkeys to pass out to everyone. And while we will do our best to get everyone the weight they are hoping for, there are no guarantees. Thank you!

For those of you that know me, you know Summer is my all time favorite season. Always has been and always will be. Give me heat and I’m a happy girl. But this Fall has got me feeling all the feelings with the beautiful tree colors. Probably helps that it hasn’t snowed yet and we still have temperatures reaching into the 70s. But I’m here for it! 🍂
