September means we're in that lovely little overlap where summer is still hanging around while fall starts sneaking into the market—and there is plenty of good local food to be had.

Why choose between something fresh and something sweet when the farmers market will happily let you have both?

🥕 Start with Little Green Farm, offering a colorful variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh free-range eggs, herbs, flowers, plants, and more. What you'll find changes with the season—which is half the fun of shopping at the market!
🧁 Then reward yourself for buying all those vegetables with a visit to Joy’s Delightz, LLC for cookies, brownies, cupcakes, mini Bundt cakes, banana pudding, chocolate-covered pretzels, and other sweet treats. They also serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, hot chocolate, and lemonade.
🍩 And because apparently we are really rewarding ourselves, stop by O Taste and See Donuts for fresh donuts, coffee, tea, and—during the summer months—shave ice.

The Spotsylvania Farmers Market is competing in the America’s Farmers Market Celebration, a national contest from American Farmland Trust—and your vote could help put our market on the national map!

Every week, our markets bring together local farmers, growers, bakers, food makers, and small businesses while giving our community a place to shop local, eat well, and connect with the people who actually grow and make our food.

A strong showing in the contest means more than bragging rights (although we are absolutely interested in those). Winning markets receive national recognition and a share of $15,000 in awards, along with opportunities for state and regional honors. That attention can help us attract even more great vendors and shoppers to Spotsylvania.
