BREAKING NEWS FROM THE FLOWER FIELD:

We officially have our first Snapdragon “almost bloom!” 🌸👏

And honestly? This one feels extra special because we didn’t grow snapdragons last year. Last year, we got a much later start on the farm, so this season feels like unlocking a whole new level of beauty around here. ✨

She’s not fully open yet… but neither am I before coffee, and we still show up. 😂🩷

One bloom spike at a time, the field is waking up and getting ready to show off.

The zinnias are growing, the sunflowers are stretching, and now the snapdragons are officially entering the chat. 💅🌿

If this is the preview… just wait until the full show starts. 👀

The first two tomatoes of the season have officially clocked in for duty. 🍅✨

Tiny? Yes. Important? Also yes.

Every big summer harvest starts with a couple of brave overachievers, and these two are the opening act for what we’re hoping will be a full-blown tomato avalanche around here. Sandwich tomatoes, salsa tomatoes, BLTs, canning tomatoes, “eat one standing in the garden with salt” tomatoes... the whole beautiful tomato situation.

If all goes according to plan, there are going to be plenty for customers to take home as many as they want! 🩷🍅

The fields are fielding, the flowers are flowering, and Thousand Oaks is starting to wake up for the season.

🌱 Purple hull peas are officially making their debut at Thousand Oaks this year… and y’all have been asking for them since day one.

Last year we heard it over and over:
“Do y’all have purple hull peas?!”

This year?

We understood the assignment. 😌🫛

Rows are planted, growing beautifully, and before long we’ll have plenty of fresh purple hull peas available right here at the farmstead. There’s just something about shelling peas on a summer evening that feels like Arkansas nostalgia in a bowl. ✨

Stay tuned because these beauties will be worth the wait.

Our sweet little Farmstead has had a little "glow up" over the winter!

Excuse me while Thousand Oaks has its main character montage moment 💅🌿
A few months ago this was just winter fields, muddy boots, and big ideas…
Now?

She’s blushing pink, stocked with plants, fresh bread, farm eggs, jellies, hanging baskets, cold drinks, and enough charm to make you suddenly want a porch fern and a loaf of homemade bread 😌

This isn’t our official flower season opening yet… but the farmstead definitely had a little glow up over the winter ✨

Come see us today, wander a little, shop a little, and help us celebrate this sweet beginning 💕

We couldn’t wait any longer…
While the flower field is still stretching and waking up, Thousand Oaks Flowers and Farmstead is opening just a little for a special Mother’s Day Pop-Up 💐

This morning’s quiet luxury: planting peanuts 🌱🥜

Not commonly grown here… which makes them all the more delightful. We do love a thoughtful surprise at Thousand Oaks.
And while JJ may sweat…

I, of course, glisten ✨🩷

Let’s see what beauty grows from a little curiosity. 🥜💡🩷

There’s a certain kind of magic that doesn’t sparkle… it sweats. ☀️🚜 And today, it looks a whole lot like JJ out there turning dirt into dinner. He's literally the hardest working man I know! 😍

Here’s your Director of Dirt and Delight in his natural habitat—sun high, rows straight, and a vision that stretches further than those fence lines. What you’re seeing? The early chapters of what we’re hoping will be a bumper crop of potatoes coming your way this season. 🥔✨

While most people see a field, we see future farmstand tables piled high, muddy hands, full baskets, and meals that start right here in this soil. JJ doesn’t just plant potatoes… he plants possibility (and yes, probably a little stubborn determination too 😏).

So when you’re grabbing those fresh potatoes later this year, just know—every single one has a story that starts with days like this.

💬 Tell us… how do you like your potatoes? Mashed? Fried? Roasted with herbs from the farm? We’re taking notes. 👀 🥔👇🏽

P. S. Even though we aren't open for the season (yet)... We still have fresh eggs. Message us if you need some! 🩷🐣

There’s something special about using tools that have stories of their own. 🩷

This Earthway seeder belonged to JJ’s grandfather… and today, it’s back in the field doing exactly what it was made to do. Row by row, seed by seed, we’re planting the future of Thousand Oaks Flowers and Farmstead. 🌸

Right now, behind the scenes, we’re:

🌻Direct seeding rows of sunflowers, zinnias, celosia, and more cut flowers
🚜 Dialing in spacing and seed plates (it’s more science than you’d think!)
💧 Working with our drip irrigation to make sure every seed has its best shot
🌿 Learning, adjusting, and building something that will be beautiful and sustainable

This part isn’t always glamorous. It’s dusty, detailed, and takes patience. But it’s where the magic starts… long before the blooms.

Every time you come pick flowers here, just know… it started with something like this. A seeder, a plan, and a whole lot of hope and hard work. 🩷💪🏽

👉 What are you most excited to see in bloom this season?

Hi 👋🏼
We’re the faces (and the dirt-covered hands) behind Thousand Oaks Flowers and Farmstead.

I’m Candace—
✨ Part-time Engagement Specialist at Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative (former Gifted and Talented Educator)
✨ Full-time dream chaser
✨ And your Chief Bloom Officer (because someone has to make it pretty),🩷🤷🏽‍♀️

And this guy… this is JJ—
🚔 Retired Assistant Police Chief
💻 Current Solutions Architect at Arkansas Valley Communications
🌱 And the farm’s very own Director of Dirt (self-appointed… but accurate)

We traded in decades of public service for early mornings, LONG days, good honest hard work, muddy boots (okay… sometimes bougie boots), and a dream rooted in family land (over 100 years worth) and wild ideas that somehow keep working. 💫

We’re building something here—
not just rows of flowers,
but a place to slow down, breathe deep, and maybe leave a little happier than you came. 🌼

We’ve got big plans… but we’re building this place with you in mind 😉

👉 What would make this your favorite weekend stop? More blooms? More goodies? More experiences? Tell us what you’d love to see, do, or take home this season 🌸💡💬
